The following is a list of songs that absolutly kick arse for one reason or another. If you have not heard of the bands or the songs I recomend that you search them out, cause they'll change your life. Maybe?
I love this osng. The change in mood from the dream guitar to the fuzzy fat riffs is awesome. I don't know, for some reason this song just reminds me of Shelly. Thats a good thing of course.
When I first bought this album, I was blown away by the political views expressed by the three Canadian chappies in this band. They were so much the same as mine. But his song stood out because of it's message to carry on, no matter how much you suffer for your views. The lines 'You can rearrange my face, but you can't rearrange my mind. You can beat this shell around me, but you can't touch whats inside.' say it all. Please. Don't give up. Rage against the oppressors, we can make a difference, but only if we believe that we can.
The most paradoxial name ever. This song always makes me cry. It's a lonely song and one I lived by when I was around eleven years old. It's a lonely song, but a happy one. It's got hope to it and it taught me that no matter how bad things seem to be, there is always someone there for you. Always.
A weird one as I'm not a great fan of rap. But I was captured by this whole album, but mostly this song. it just made so much sense, unlike most rappers. After hearing this song I realised how much people are influenced by the music they listen to. Take the Manson phenomen, how many people do you know who dyed their hair black and started scaring themselves after hearing manson, even after he told them to be themselves, not mimics of him.
Music is the biggest oppressor of all. Yet, I can't live without it.
This song is my childhood. I was brought up in my home town, a rather smallish innocent town. A very conservative, but vindictive town. Anger surrounded me. i hit eleven and saw just how much I had been lied to, how much I'd been decieved. How false the things I believed in really were. I thought I was like the guy in this song. A personality, the same as everyone else, straight off the department store rack.
This song brang out the rebel in me. The lines
I bought this album when it first came out and I instantly fell in love with this song. It's one of the most beautiful songs ever written. At the time I couldn't really relate to the song, I just loved it. But when I met Shelly I knew exactly what it was talking about. I was captured just like the song says and I have been ever since.
A song about bitches who start shit by spreading rumours. Happened to me, but this song shares my current view. Who cares, I know the shit they start isn't true. A truly beautful song, even though it was written by Charles Manson.
I bought this the day after the album came out here in aussie cause I was captured by the unique band name. I was enthralled by the sounds that assulted me. Then came Disarm, the strings and bells contrasted with the mellow, but angry vocals. the song triggered something deep down inside me. I related to the song cause it's about corgan's dad. Enough said, it's too personal. But a truly beautiflu song.
They played this song for a teacher at school who's son died. It made me cry. There's all these people in my life who keep me alive because of the things that they do. People who I will always strive to be like but I know I can never achieve their greatness.
People who think MM are just freaks. Are wrong. People who think MM are just stage makeup and silly onstage gimmicks. Are wrong. People who think MM worship Satan. Are wrong.
The album 'Antichrist Superstar' is about the strengthening ofones individuality. If anything, MM should be given to all children. Not taken away from them. This way all children could learn how to live before their minds are destroyed by their parents. Anyway, this album had a huge effect on me. I love it, can't live without it. If you havn't heard it buy it or aquire it. But don't judge it before you've heard it's message.
I love this song. It's about this day where everything just seems to go right. One of those days where the sun shines right and it feels so good to be alive. I don't know what the speciality of this day is to the band, but I experience these days all the time. Everytime I see my girlfriend, which is evry two weeks, I feel just like this song says. I love the lines 'It's like waking up from a fucked up dream, and suddenly everything is okay', cause that feeling of security is exactly what I feel
A band from Melbourne, here in Aussie. Their a three piece instrumental band. Warren Ellis plays the violin, and two other guys play guitar and drums. Together they twist meoldies which blow the mind. This song stands out for me. It's mood changes from sad to angry to chaos and ends in total depression. A beautiful song from a beautiful band. If you come from Aussie and havn't heard 'em, shame on you. If you don't, try and find their stuff. They'll change your life.
Another song I discovered in my early teens. Became obsessed with it and began to live by it. It's just so true. The first verse is my favorite. A beautiful, but angry song.
I love this song. Pure and simple. I love the lines -
