Band Aid/ USA For Africa

Trivia: Band Aid was a British recording which put together a number of British artists to record a song to raise money to aid the starving in famine-ravaged Ethiopia. USA For Africa was a similar effort on the part of American musicians.

Band Aid's song, "Do They Know Its Christmas?" was written by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, and was produced by Trvor Horn. It was recorded in November 25, 1984, and released in time for the holiday season.

USA For Africa's song, "We Are The World," was written by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson, and produced by Quincy Jones. The record was recorded on January 28, 1985, on the same night as the American Music Awards.
