If you happen to be in a level where all players start on the same platform (ex-Hyrule),
start your attack with the falcon kick (Down on control stick +
). It's an excellent method as its so fast it
doesn't give the opposing players any chance to attack.
You can come up from underneath platforms with Falcons Up on control stick +
move to get a sneak attack on your
opponent.
A good combo is to first grab your opponent with the "R" button, then slam them against
the ground by tapping the "R" button again. The moment they hit the ground and bounce
back up for a brief moment, run up and jump underneath him and use your Back flip kick
move (in air press Up on control stick +
)
When your opponent is trying to get back on the ledge, use the Falcon Punch (
) at the right moment to knock your
opponent back to where they came.
If you're opponent is hanging on the ledge, use the Down Smash attack (Down +
).
A real good way to annoy your opponent is to first grab them with the "R" button, then
walk right off the edge with them. Although it'll count as a suicide and cause you to lose a
point, the fact that you defeated your opponent will gain you a point back. So it'll seem as
if nothing happened to you. But your opponent, would have lost a point and now be
negative one.
The best time to wind up DK's punch
(
) is right after you reappear after falling off a ledge. During this time you are
temporarily invincible which allows for almost enough time to wind up your punch
completely.
If you're trying to power up DK's punch and your opponent is about to attack you, just
press the "Z" button once and your powered up punch energy will be conserved. Now
just (
again to continue with the
power up.
While we all know that both Kirby and Jigglypuff can fly, Kirby can get the greatest
distance of the two, let alone everyone else. Here's how you do it. First, make sure you're
in a match against Jigglypuff while you are playing as Kirby. Now, use Kirby's "Vacuum"
attack (
) and suck up Jigglypuff, now
press
again to take Jigglypuff's
attack. Now, if you're knocked off the platform, alternate using Kirby's newly acquired
attack and his fly attack, so it'd be,
punch, fly, punch, fly, etc. When you finally run out of puffs, use Kirby's Air Sword
attack (up+
) to get the maximum
distance.
Kirby's "Stone" attack (down+
)
makes him invincible for a short while. The only thing Kirby is susceptible to is this state
is a throw attack.
When right next to an opponent use Luigi's Uppercut attack (Up+
) to send your opponent flying way high up
into the air.
If your opponent has fallen off the ledge and is trying to jump back, stand right on the very
edge of the platform. Tap the
button. This will allow Luigi to perform his fireball attack, if timed correctly, it should hit
your opponent and send them back far enough to cause the opponent not to be able to
make it back. This can be a very challenging trick to do.
Luigi's taunt (L button) actually does 1% damage if you are right next to your opponent, I
don't know why you'd use this move though.
If your opponent has fallen off the ledge and is trying to jump back, stand right on the very
edge of the platform. Then jump into the air and tap the
button. This will allow Mario to perform his fireball attack, if timed
correctly, it should hit your opponent and send them back far enough to cause them not to
be able to make it back. This can be a very challenging trick to do.
Mario's Uppercut move (Up on Control stick+
) is most effective when right next to your opponent as you will get the most hits
in then.
If your opponent has fallen off the ledge and is trying to jump back, stand right on the very
edge of the platform. Then jump into the air and tap the
button. This will shoot a little ball of lightning from Pikachu and if
timed correctly, it should hit your opponent and send them back far enough to cause them
not to be able to make it back. This can be a very challenging trick to do.
Normally, when you launch Pikachu's lightning bolt attack (Down+
) The lightning bolt will hit Pikachu
restricting it to travel any further down past him. However, if you're jumping fast enough
to either the right or left and perform the attack the lightning bolt WILL miss Pikachu and
hit the ground. This can be a helpful aerial attack if your opponent is underneath you
when you do it.
Pikachu is so short, that if you're on level ground with the opponent and they are shooting
the ray gun at you, just duck and the shots will travel right over Pikachu. This also works
if the opponent is trying to throw items at you, just duck and they'll miss most of the time.
Pikachu's telaport move (up+
)
normally only zaps you around once, but if you perform the move and quickly change
directions before its done, you can do it twice. It's a very helpful move as not only can it
seriously help you get back on the platform, but you're also invincible while zapping
around.
