Turok 2
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is a worthy sequel to the original Turok. Acclaim has Fixed many problems that were present in the first one. However, as old problems are fine-tuned, new ones surface. For instance, even though there are only six levels, they are humungous, this may please some of you, but it can be a major pain. For instance, in the first level you have to find four children and activate three distress beacons, if you happen to miss one you'll have to start the level over and retrace the whole thing to find the one object or person you're missing, it really does get boring after a while. Now onto the positives. Iguana has finally pushed back the fog somewhat in this game, but it's still there, just less of it. Also, as much as it is fun killing dinosaurs it does get repetitive after a short while. The multi-player is the main highlight of this game, if you're considering getting this game, get it because of the multiplayer. You can choose from several characters each with their own abilities, for example, some can regenerate themselves after a few seconds, while others are faster and stronger. Most of the weapons are present in multiplayer including the almighty Cerebral Bore. Acclaim also removed the music from multiplayer in order to free up processing time.
Graphics (10)-Making use of the expansion pack, this game has some of the most beautiful textures you have ever seen. The dinosaurs for the most part look fairly realistic. Too bad the fog wasn't pushed back farther though.
Sound (8)-Very good sound, although the music isn't quite as good as say Rogue Squadrons or Zelda's. The sound effects have a nice creepy feel to them.
Play Control (7)-Many people preferd Goldeneye's controls to Turok's. However, Turok 2 fixes this problem with the option of two different control
styles.
Fun Factor (7)-The one player mode tends to get old rather fast due to the tediously large levels, but the multiplayer really saves the game here, as the battles can get really intense. Although I don't find them quite as exhilarating as Goldeneye's.
Replay Value (7)-Again, the only reason why someone would want to come
back to this game would be because, 1) they wanted to kill dinosaurs or 2) they are in need of some major multiplayer action.
Overall-7.5/10
