If you've never played Tetris before, you've either been living in a cave for the last 15 years, or you just have no life. Either way, do yourself a favor and go out and play this game, because this is the pinnacle of Tetris evolution. New to the Tetris realm (at least in the US) is the addition of a 4-player mode. Now you and four of your friends (assuming you have four friends) can now go head to head in an all out Tetris war. Also new to this game is a swapping piece option. Now, anytime you want during a match, you can choose to exchange your current piece for the randomly chosen piece in your hold box. This allows you to keep those rare long pieces just in case you are able to score a Tetris later.

Graphics(7.5)-The graphics are simple, what do you expect out of a Tetris game. However, the game does include some very nice backgrounds with moving elements in each one, whether it be raining in the background or the clouds moving. The pieces themselves are colorful and easily identified from one another.

Sound(10)-The music is absolutely fantastic in this game. Tetrisphere no doubt had some of the best music on the N64 and thankfully, the same musician who composed the music for that game is returning with brand new tracks in this game, including a redone version of the original Tetris theme.

Play Control(9)-The controls are incredibly simple. "A" rotates the piece clockwise while "B" does the opposite. You choose where you want the pieces to drop with the control pad.

Fun Factor(9)-This game is the prime of puzzle games. The multi-player mode can turn your best friends into the worst of enemy's. The game featuring a unique "garbage" mode allows you to send "garbage" pieces over to anyone of your opponents when you score two or more lines.

Replay Value(8.5)-Again, this game reigns in replay value. Every time you score a line, you are one more step to achieving your goal. You see, when you clear a certain amount of lines, the game will award you with a new background and music piece. And believe me, it takes a while to earn all the secrets.
