Bangladesh Association at Saitama University (BASU) is an organization of the Bangladeshi students studying in Saitama University, Japan and their family in Japan. The main objectives of the association are to improve regular interactions among the Bangladeshi students, to help Bangladeshi new comers for a smooth transition and also to introduce Bangladesh and her culture to the Japanese and other foreign communities living in and around Saitama University campus. This association was founded in March 1999. Since then, there have been a lot of activities, for example, participating in Saitama University food festival, many tours to various places in Japan, cultural activities within the community and among communities, sports and matches with different national teams in Saitama university etc. In addition, the association offers annual scholarship to poor students in Bangladesh to facilitate their education. The association is managed by the adviser and his associate(s). The responsibilities, working procedures and related issues are defined by the ordinance of the association.
