The piece is forged square rod, intricately drawn out on the artist’s anvil, using historical blacksmithing techniques, then traditionally finished with bees wax to create the polished black iron appearance.

 

This is an example of one of the artist’s earliest works in Arabic writing as an art form in steel. It is the last of this style, still available.
