Murder

Graveyard Game

Reverse Treat Game

Bucket-O-Body Parts!

"Murder"

One player is secretly designated the "murderer". This can be done by drawing lots: each player draws a piece of paper from a hat. They are all marked "victim" except for one marked "murderer". Prepare only enough for the number of players. Alternatively, the host can secretly tap one player to be the "murderer".

All players must sit in a circle and be able to see each participant's face easily. The murderer tries to "kill" the other players by winking at them. If a player is winked at, he or she must die (as dramatically as possible, of course!.

A warning to the murderer: wink discreetly. A player who witnesses the crime (and is not yet killed off) can become a "witness". This player shouts "Witness!" and names the killer. If the witness is right, he or she is a winner, and a new round starts. If the witness is wrong, however, that person also dies. A player who has a hunch about the killer, may shout "Detective!" and guess the murderer's identity. Beware! A wrong hunch results in that player also dying. The murderer wins if all but one "victim" is killed off. Note: "Victims" are forbidden to wink!

"Graveyard Game"

How still can you be? The last person left wins! Choose one person to be the grave keeper. The grave keeper closes his/her eyes and counts to ten while everyone else gets into a good frozen position and stands very still. The grave keeper then walks around looking for anyone who moves. If the grave keeper catches you moving (breathing doesn't count), you are out. You can move positions when the gravekeeper's back is turned but don't get caught moving. The last person left is the winner and can be the new grave keeper if you choose to play another round.

"Reverse Treat Game"

Kids caught saying certain "magic words" give away a piece of candy in a bag they are given at the start of the evening. The person with the most candy remaining at the end of the evening is the winner, and gets to keep the candy!

Start each person off with a small bag and about 10 pieces of candy. You can write the person's name on the bag. Next, ask them to help you make a list of the "magic words" to hang up for all to see.

The list can include: GHOST, PUMPKIN, WITCH, CANDY, HALLOWEEN, and whatever else you might want to add. Hang up the list in a place everyone can see it. Set a specific time for the game to end. If someone is caught saying one of the words on the list, the one who says the word must give the first one who hears it a piece of candy from their bag. The person with the most candy when the time is up wins.

"Bucket-O-Body Parts!"

This is a great game because you'll have to use your imagination. First, the room has to be very dark. You could light a couple of candles to add the atmosphere. Everyone sits down in a circle, and a bowl is passed around with "body parts" in it. The guests must feel the contents of the bowl, and try to guess what is really in there.

Here are some ideas to get you started..... Cooked spaghetti can be passed off as veins. Peeled grapes can be used for eyeballs. Candy Corn can be used for teeth. A Jello mold may be used for a brain, and mashed potatoes can be used for "guts". Get creative!
