Images On Pages

So what is the difference between GIF format and JPG format?

I got the images from three sites on the web. The Rozz William photographs were from The Heart, and from The Angels Theatre. The Cure photograph is from The Cure Homepage.
I saved all the images in BitMap format and then brought them into Photoshop. I altered the Cure photo just slightly by cropping it. The Rozz Williams photos were altered a great deal. I spent a long time on these images, but it was fun. I changed the photos by using the different options on Photoshop. I used the wide range of filters, the different options for the layers and the opacity percent on the layers. I then saved all the images in a tumbnail size and a large size, with each one having a GIF version and a JPG version.
