Chapter One:

Cloe watched the older kids playing basketball and dancing. She was to little to hang out with them. How can 14 be too young? She is the same size as Ebony and she is almost 18.

"This sucks!" Cloe exclaimed as she put her chin in her cupped hands.

"What sucks?" Jack asked as he came to sit next to her.

"I want to hang out with them." She pointed to where Ebony, Amber, and Ellie were dancing. She didn't like the way Ebony's friends treated people, but she wanted to be like her sister.

"Why? They only play sports and dance." Jack opened the book in his hand before sitting on the ground.

"That's the difference between you and me. I like to do those things. You would rather read." She moved closer to him. "Do miss Ellie?"

"Hell NO! She was a slut monkey! Not to mention she was a bitch to everyone that came near her." Jack spewed. Him and Ellie broke up very badly. She didn't like the fact that he hung out with Jay and Martin. She was hoping to get a clone of Jack's brother, Lex.

Cloe looked at he watch and then across the park. "I wish Patsy would get here!"

"Are you two going somewhere?"

"Yeah, we are going to Ved and KC's game. Are you going?"

"I don't know. KC don't really care for me to go to his game. I always seem to start trouble."

Cloe looked confused. "how could you start trouble?"

"I am friends with Jay and Martin. Just my presence makes people wanna fight." Jack looked down. "Lex hates me because of it. I miss the way we were."

"Well, Lex has changed too! You have nothing to worry about." Cloe put her arm around his shoulder. "Come with us tonight. You can have fun and not have to worry about what others say. No one cares what Patsy, Ved, KC and I do."

"Okay. Do ya'll need a ride there?" Jack asked as Patsy ran over to them.

"Hey, Patsy! Jack is going to come with us. He will drive us."

"Cool. I guess that is a good thing. I was going to ask Ebs to drive us." Patsy said with a slight frown. "She did you wrong, Jack."

"You don't have to tell me. I don't understand how she is my friend for... since I can remember and she just drops me because I break up with Ellie." Jack stood and then helped Cloe up. "She has Bray. She doesn't need me!"

"You know Bray changed a lot about Ebony." Cloe stated.

"Come on, let's go. I want to see my bro kick some ass!"

Chapter Two

"Hey, Bray. What's the deal with your brother and that girl Trudy?" Lex asked as he sat on the couch in between TaiSan and Amber. He put one of his arms around Tai San despite the fact that her boyfriend, Jaymes, was sitting right next to her.

"He is dating her. I don't understand why. He could find a much prettier girl in our group. That ratbastard Jay had to mess everything up." Bray exclaimed.

Amber shyly entered the conversation, "Jay isn't that bad. He is a pretty good guy."

Ellie quickly turned to Amber. "Excuse me? How would you know what Jay is like?"

"Well... I have Calculus with him. We talk sometimes when there is nothing better to do." Amber was beginning to get scared. Everyone was looking at her like she had sold out to the other side.

"How could you talk to him?" Ellie asked in disgust. "He is... eh!" Ellie left the room and everyone but Ebony looked away from Amber. Ebony only gave Amber a sympathetic look. She knew what it was like to be friends with someone that didn't belong in the group. That was the only reason she tried to get Jack and Ellie together. But that was a really bad idea and made things worse when that new boy, Jay came in town. Jack chose Jay over his brother and girlfriend. Jack had to be treated like an outcast because of it.

"That was a great game, Ved!" Cloe gushed when KC and Ved made their way over to the group after the game.

"Thanks. I just wish some of the other guys on the team we competent enough to rely on. KC and I have to basically play the game by ourselves if we want to win." Ved went on about his favorite sport basketball and his school team.

He and KC were the only freshmen on the varsity team. They were the only people on the team that actually knew how to play basketball. The others were only on the team because they were popular. Therefore, KC and Ved had to win all the games for them team.

"I'm just glad that is the last game of the season." KC sighed. "I don't think I can stand another moment with those idiots."

Ved looked at the people near them. Everyone was looking at them and talking. "Their ability to talk about anyone anytime amazes me. Wait.... no it doesn't."

"Well, if you don't mind. Can we get out of here?" Jack asked.

"More than happy to." Patsy stated as she pulled her brother and boyfriend behind her.

Twenty minutes later, Patsy, Cloe, Ved, KC and Jack found themselves sitting in Ved's bedroom and talking.

"Ya'lls brother Lex is totally heinous. What is the deal?" Ved asked Jack and KC.

"I don't know. He was cool and then one day, he just woke up a rat.*******." KC elaborated.

"Oh, I know. He just became one of those mindless sheep following Bray's every move." Patsy added.

"Let's not talk about Bray!" Cloe gently pulled her hair. "I hear too much about him from Ebony! I hate when he comes over to the house." Ved put an arm around Cloe to 'comfort' her.

"You know you could always come hang out at our house." KC offered.

"How would that be any better? He is Lex's best friend." Patsy asked.

"Oh yeah. I guess we are infested with all the people that forgot how to be themselves." Jack concluded bringing the conversation to an end.

Chapter 3

The bell rang loudly as every student made his or her way to the first class of the morning. Martin, Trudy, Jay, and Jack were no different.

"So what are ya'll doing this weekend?" Jay asked his friends.

"We are having a romantic dinner for two." Trudy gave a small kiss on the lips to Martin causing a nearby teacher to warn them. "None of you better show up, or else."

"How about you, Jack?"

"I was thinking of crashing a party that Lex is having." Jack thought as he watched all the kids move out of their way.

"Oh!" Jay exclaimed jumping to touch the exit sign. "That sounds like a great idea! Mind if crash too?"

"I couldn't do it without you." Jack slapped Jay's hand. "I gotta go. I haven't done my Drama homework yet." He slapped hands with Martin before entering the drama room.

As usual, everyone was being loud and throwing things. This was the only non-advanced class he took and Jack hated the immaturity that he had to endure. There was only one person in the class that he wanted to talk to. She wouldn’t talk to him. It was against the rules.

A note fell onto the desk in front of him. His name was on the front.

How are you doing? I heard you are going to be crashing your brother’s party. Be careful, I know you don’t want Jay, Ved, or Patsy to get hurt. Bray and Lex really hates them.
Ebony

Jack took out a piece of paper and wrote back:
Hey, watch out yourself. Won’t Paris get mad, Juliet?
He slid the note onto Ebony’s desk in front of his. She read it and wrote more to him:
Oh what does that make you? Romeo? I am just trying to be nice. I wish we could be friends but you know how things are.

Jack:

No. How are things? We used to be friends until Bray tells you that I am not good enough. You won’t even look at me. I thought that you were better than that.

Ebony:

Jack, don’t be mad. I still think of you as my best friend. I just really like Bray. I don’t want to lose him.

Jack:

Well, you keep Bray because you lost me a long time ago!
Ebony turned to look at him. “Jack, I want to be friends again. Really.”

Jack didn’t know what to say to her. She practically ignored him for over two years. “You sure as hell don’t act like it. Now, if you excuse me, I have some homework to finish.” She just kept looking at him as he ignored her.

Chapter Four

“Hey, Jay. See Lex and Bray over there.” Martin asked point to his brother.

“Yeah. He would be so easy to throw something at.” An evil laugh escapes Jay.

Trudy notices the look on their faces and knows something is up. “You two are not going to do something bad to those two.”

“Why not?” Martin tried to hug Trudy but she moved away. “Why’d you move?”

“I am not going to reward you for trying to injure your brother.”

“We are not going to injure Bray.” Jay stated as if it were a fact. “We are merely going to throw a football at him.

“Ya’ll are going to do what you want to. I am going to go talk to Cloe and Patsy.” She hugged Martin. “Just talk to Jack and see if he thinks it is a good idea.”

Martin and Jay both looked as if they were hurt. “Why do we have to ask Jack? You act as if he is smarter than us.” Martin asked.

She looked at them closely. Jay threw up his arms. “Okay, but just because we are asking Jack doesn’t mean that we think he is smarter than us.”

As Trudy was leaving, Jack arrived. “What’s up?” They did the manly handshake thing.

“We were thinking of hitting our brothers in the head with a football.” Martin explained.

Jay laughed. “Trudy thinks we should ask you if it is a good idea.”

Jack’s eyes brightened. This was the way that he could get Lex back for not driving him to school. “It’s a great idea. Mind if I get it on photo?”

“We would be delighted. Martin, get the football.” Martin grabbed the football and Jay ran towards the table that Bray, Lex and their fellow sheep were sitting at.

“Jay, Go long!!!!” The ball left Martin’s hand and sailed perfectly through the air. Jay continued to run. Now he had passed their table. The ball began to descend. THUD!!!! The ball hit Bray squarely in the back of the head. He and Lex both jumped up to find the culprit. None other than Martin and Jay were looking back at them.

“Martin, you are soo gonna get it.” Bray yelled across the quad. That was all the warning that Martin needed. He ran as fast as he could. As he reached the farthest table, Bray was nearing him. Martin jumped onto the table and lifted his arms above his head in the shape of an ‘x’.

“POWER AND CHOAS!” Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at him. The only sound that could be heard was a song that the dance team was playing, “Zoot Suit Riot.”

He looked across to his friend Jay who was completely pummeling Lex while Jack feverishly took photos of the whole event. Who knew such a simple day could give a man such joy? Well, he had joy before Bray tackled him and hit him in the jaw.


“This is the last time that I am going to tell you boys to not get into a fight.” Mr. Stewart, the head master warned to Jay, Jack, Martin, Bray and Lex. “The next time, the person that starts the fight will be expelled and the rest of you will be suspended.” Lex glared at Jack and Jay and Martin and Bray nudged each other. “Do you boys understand me?”

In a unified grumble the boys agreed. “Yes, sir.”

“Now, leave!” Mr. Stewart pointed to the door. “I swear these kids are causing me to go gray.”

As he was leaving Jay added, “Not to mention making you look like Papa Smurf.”

Chapter 5

“What happened to Jay, Martin, and Jack?” Trudy asked excitedly. One of the more friendly Preps, Jaymes, was recounting what happened in the quad.

“They threw the football at Bray. Bray chased Martin, and then Martin jumps on a table and yells ‘Power and chaos!’ like he is some kind of super hero. Then Bray tackles him. Jay also beat up Lex. But you will get to see it all when Jack develops the film.” Jaymes could hardly tell the story because he was laughing so hard.

Cloe looked to Ved and KC who seemed to be thinking of ways to congratulate their brothers. “That is so stupid and childish.”

“I know, but at least Jay won his fight.” Patsy added.

“It still wasn’t right. I wish they could just get along.” Cloe crossed her arms and pouted. “We used to all be friends a long time ago.”

Ved hugged Cloe. “Babe, it is going to be okay.” Cloe tried not to smile at the fact that Ved was hugging her. “People just change.”

“Doesn’t it bother you that everything is being blamed on your older brother?” Cloe looked into Ved’s eyes. He had the most beautiful eyes.

“No. That is their problem. I just want to have fun with my friends.” Ved released Cloe and she returned to pouting. Ved let go of her!

“I thought Jack would tell them it was a bad idea.” Trudy stated.

“Trudy, you shouldn’t be with a boy that doesn’t listen to you. You should be with a man that believes in your wisdom.” Jaymes placed his hand on her shoulder.

Trudy looked at his hand. “Don’t you go out with Tai San?”

“Yeah. So?” Jaymes smirked smugly.

Trudy nodded to KC and Patsy. They ran over to the prep table and whispered in Tai San’s ear. She huffily stomped over. “JAYMES! Excuse me?”

Jaymes jumped up from the table. “Tai San! Hi!”

She grabbed his arm tightly. “Were you flirting with Trudy?”

“Da.mn right I was! Were you kissing Lex?” Jaymes shot back.

“No, I was not!” Tai San let go of his arm and he walked off. She followed after him as they argued.

“Trudy,” Cloe started. “That was masterful. I bow at your expertise.” Cloe bowed in front of Trudy

Trudy laughed. “In time you too can learn to get guys in trouble with their girlfriends.” She scooted closer to Cloe and whispered to her. “Maybe you can start with Ved.”

Cloe whispered back to her. “How can I do that? He doesn’t have a girlfriend.”

“You can still seduce him.” Trudy raised her eyebrows. “Come to Jay’s house after school and I will give you and Patsy a makeover.”

“Cool. I’ll be there.” Cloe answered out loud.

“You’ll be where?” Ved asked as he threw his arm around Cloe.

“Your house after school. Trudy is going to give Patsy and I a makeover.” Cloe stated excitedly.

“Girls and their make-up.” Ved muttered before going back to what he was doing.

Chapter 6

That afternoon, Trudy, Cloe and Patsy sat in the floor of Jay's room looking through Trudy's make-up. Martin and Jay were not to happy at the intrusion.

"Why do you have to do this in my room?" Jay asked rolling his eyes.

"Because your room is the only room with a bathroom made into it. We don't want Ved to see Cloe until I am through." Trudy took out the eye shadow and applied it to Cloe's eyes.

"Why are you fixing up Cloe for Ved?" Martin asked. He was completely enthralled with the fantastic application of make-up.

"Don't you understand anything?" Patsy looked at her brother and his friend as if they were stupid. "She likes him and we are trying to help her get him."

"Oh!!" Both of the guys exclaimed.

Trudy looked to both of the girls. "Guys are so oblivious." All three of them giggled.

Trudy continued her work. When she had finished Cloe, she handed her a dress and then began on Patsy. As she was putting the final touches on Patsy, Cloe stepped out of the bathroom and you could almost hear Jay and Martin's mouth's hit the floor.

"What do you think?" Cloe asked spinning for the guys to see. "Will Ved like?"

"Damn! Forget Ved. You can have me!" Jay jumped from the bed and walked over to her. "Trudy, I've never seen you wear this."

"I wore that in my preppy days. Little, short, black dresses don't suit me anymore."

Martin was shocked. "I loved that dress."

"So did Bray." Trudy remembered.

"Anyway... Cloe, go on out there and make my baby bro lucky." Jay pushed Cloe to the door. She walked in to the hallway just as Ved and KC passed. Patsy, Jay, Martin and Trudy watched with much anticipation. Ved didn't seem to notice at first but then backed up.

"Damn! You look good." Ved walked in a complete circle around Cloe.

"Thanks. You're no slouch either."

"This must be the work of Trudy." He looked to the door to see Trudy mouth the words, "Do it." Before he realized what was going on, Cloe's lips were planted firmly against his. Not that he was complaining. Just shocked. "What was that for?"

"I like you and I thought I would tell you subtly." Cloe started to walk away.

"Oh come on. You can not kiss a guy like THAT and just walk away." Ved put his hands on her waist and turned her around. "I want a repeat." He kissed her again.

Everyone else returned to Jay's room to leave the couple.

"Another successful match, Trudy. Got someone in mind for me?" Jay asked with a laugh.

Chapter 7

"Are you ready to infiltrate enemy ground?" Jay asked as he looked at Cloe, Jack, Ved, Patsy, KC, Martin and Trudy.

Jack stood up from the huddled position. "Can we stop this stupid army shit? This is my house. I can come and go as I please." He walked to the front door with everyone in tow. The loud music could be heard and the sounds of people talking over it.

They walked into the house as if they were the guests of honor and spread out. Jay, Jack, Martin and Trudy went to the area being used as a dance floor and began to dance while KC, Ved, Cloe and Patsy went to the kitchen. No one noticed or cared but Bray and Lex. The two went directly to their brothers.

"What the hell are you doing Jack?" Lex asked holding his brother by the collar.

Jack shrugged Lex off. "I'm going to a kicking party. Got a problem?"

"I do." Bray added stepping closer to Martin.

Martin pulled a red paper out. "You're flyer says that anyone can come."

Jay looked around. "Looks like we are anyone. By the way, Jack and KC lives here. They can invite their friends over."

Lex and Bray couldn't argue. If they bothered Jack and KC it could be guaranteed that when the 'rents get home the party would be something to talk about. They stepped back and left them be.

"I take it my brother knows how me and KC play." Jack stated turning back to the girl that he was dancing with.

Everything went pretty well for the rest of the night. Everyone was getting along with the 'outsiders.'

"Trudy, won't Martin get mad for you dancing with me?" Jaymes asked as Trudy slid down his body making sure that she touched every bit of him.

"Martin looks busy right now." Jaymes followed her line of vision. Martin was dancing with some blonde prep. No doubt only to make Bray angry.

"Well, then, please continue." He pulled her close, grinding into her. The two were moving a little close and Martin didn't notice.

Meanwhile, Jack had to get out of all the madness for awhile. He sat outside on the old swing set. No one had noticed that he was gone. Like it mattered. Jay and Martin were getting their revenge. They didn't need him anymore. Sure he was best friends with Martin, but he missed the kindness that Ebony showed. He just missed Ebony.

Ved and Cloe leaned against a wall in the hallway making out when Ebony tapped Cloe on the shoulder. "What do you want? I am kind of busy!" Cloe exclaimed. "Sorry, Ebs. What do you want?"

"Have you seen Jack?" Cloe nodded her head yes and pointed out the back door. Ebony walked off and Cloe and Ved went back to what they were doing.

Jaymes and Trudy were now in the same hallway as Cloe and Ved. Jaymes moved closer pulling Trudy against him. She kissed him passionately. At first he wanted to protest. Trudy has a boyfriend. But then he realized that she was kissing him of her own free will. If she wanted to stop, she would. So he just let her do what she wanted.

The back door opened with a creak. Jack just stared strait ahead. He was thinking about when he was still friends with Ebony, before things went wrong.

"Jack, you shouldn't be sitting out here. It is cold." Ebony sit next to him as close as she could.

"What are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be with Bray?" Jack threw at her.

Ebony looked down. "I wanted to ask you what that Romeo and Juliet stuff is about?"

"Ebony, if you haven't noticed," He motioned to everybody inside. "We are separated."

"But we aren't star-crossed lovers." Ebony didn't understand.

"No but we love each other. We're friends. That love is just as strong." He looked her in the eyes. "I just want things to be the way they were before."

"I know. I hate to see Bray and Lex arguing with you and Martin. Not to mention the way that he treats Trudy. I mean, he is the father of her baby. He should at least treat her with a little decency."

"Yeah. He loves Brady, but acts like her mother is trash because she wanted his brother instead of him." Jack added.

Ebony scooted closer and put her head on Jack's shoulder. "Jack, would you like to come over to my house tomorrow? I want to get to know you again. I want us to be friends again."

"Really? Aren't you afraid lover boy will get mad?" Jack leaned his head against Ebony's

"Bray can get over it."

chapter 8

Trudy was oblivious to the world around her as she and Jaymes kissed. Nothing mattered to her and Martin was forgotten. Sure she was a little drunk. But she knew what she was doing. It wasn't like when she and Bray slept together. That was a mistake that had ended their friendship, but it had given her the most beautiful daughter in the world. She looked more and more like her daddy everyday, hopefully she would not act like her father.

"Martin will just love to see this." Ellie's voice announced behind Trudy before a flash of light went off. Ellie took a picture of them. That was not good. Trudy turned to look at the hateful blonde. "How much would you pay for me not to show this to Martin?"

"I wouldn't pay you a dime. Go ahead and show that picture to Martin." Trudy stepped into Ellie's face. "Who is going to believe you?"

"Nobody. But a picture says a thousand words." She waved the picture in front of Trudy. "We'll find out what happens." With that Ellie left.

"Damn!!!" Trudy hit the wall beside Jaymes. "I gotta go." She turned on her heals and left Jaymes standing there confused at what was happening but very pleased.

Jay surveyed the room. None of the girls struck his attention. They all seemed to be waiting for Lex and Bray to look in their direction. All that is but one. Amber. She was different. She didn't care what Bray and Lex thought. She was normal.

He crossed the room to where she was standing talking to a couple of other girls. When the girls noticed Jay standing behind Amber, they left. "Hello."

"Hey, Jay. I didn't think you would be here." Amber answered excitedly.

"Well, who could pass up a chance to hang out with the one and only Bray Fielding?" He looked around in mock shock. "Not I!"

Amber giggled. " I love your sense of humor!"

"Would you like to examine it better by dancing with me?" Jay asked her putting out his hand for her to take. Sure it was a stupid line, but that was what Amber liked about Jay. He didn't care what people thought. She just hoped that she could live with the stares that we already coming her way. She wanted Jay. If he wanted her, that was enough for he to live with anything.

Bray leaned against the wall watching what was going on. Ebony's sister and Jay's brother was in the hallway. Lex had his tongue halfway down TaiSan's throat. Jay was dancing with Amber. Martin was dancing with a random girl and KC and Patsy had disappeared. Trudy left the room with Jaymes to the hallway. Everyone knew what was going on in the hallway. Not to mention, Ellie showed him the photo. It didn't bother him. She was a big girl. She could take care of herself. He just hoped that Jaymes wouldn't fall into one of her traps like he did. Trudy tricked him and now he had a daughter, not to mention a brother that hated him. She was evil. She was also the one that brought Jay around and took half of Bray's friends away. He wouldn't let her hurt his brother. The picture would be seen by Martin at just the right time to make them break up. She would pay for tricking him and helping Jay.

"Jack, do you think that I made the wrong decision by dating Bray?" Ebony asked. Her head was still against Jack's as they watched the stars.

"No. I think you just followed you heart." Jack wanted to say yes, but that would be wrong.

Ebony sat up and looked Jack in the face. "I think I did. He doesn't love me. I am just a plaything. He wanted a trophy and I was that."

"It is okay. Why don't you just break up with him if you aren't happy?" Jack hugged her.

Ebony sobbed. "Can you imagine what it would be like to break up with the most popular guy in school?" She pulled back to look at him. "Everyone would try to kill me or something."

Jack pulled her closer as she continued to cry. The door creaked again. "What the hell are you doing with Ebony? Get your hands off her." Bray exclaimed as he pulled her from Jack's arms.

"Bray, it isn't what it looks like. We were just talking." Ebony cried out in pain as he jerked her arm closer to him.

"You're hurting her. Let her go!" Jack loosened Bray's hand and Ebony ran behind Jack. "How dare you treat her like that?"

"Treat her like what? She is the one that is cheating on me with a geek." Bray stepped closer but Jack didn't move

"Bray, get out of my yard." Jack ordered.

"I don't have to do shit. Lex invited me here not you." Bray stepped closer again.

Lex burst through the door. "What is going on?" He looked to Bray. "Are you threatening Jack?"

"Jack was with my girl." Bray defended himself.

"I don't care. He is my brother. And you know that he and Ebony are only friends. They have been for years." Lex walked over to his brother and checked Ebony. She had red marks all over her arm. "Did you hurt her?"

"Lex, I thought we were friends." Bray asked defensively.

"You're right. We were friends." He pushed Bray towards the gate. "I want you to get out of here now."

Bray walked to the gate. Lex returned to making sure that his brother and Ebony were fine. None of them noticed Bray as he walked back and hit Lex hard. Lex fell to the ground, unconscious. That was the last straw for Jack. He hadn't fought before, but he remembered what Lex had taught him. He swung as hard as he could at Bray. When he drew back his hand it was covered in blood. Bray's blood. Bray was laying on the ground with Blood going everywhere. Bray yelled in pain and Jack knew that his fan club would be out there soon. He and Ebony ran inside and got Jay, Amber, Trudy, Ved, Cloe, Patsy, Martin and KC and ran across the road to Ebony and Cloe's house before anyone realized what was going on. The preps may not be that smart, but they were fighters and there was a lot of them at the party. There was no way that Jay, Jack, Martin, KC and Ved could take them all.

Chapter 9: Part 1

Just a tidbit not a chapter!

Everyone was asleep in Ebony's room. Last night had been interesting. Who would have thought that Lex would stand up to Bray? Jack didn't. He could only keep playing over and over in his head what had happened.

"Jack." Ebony got up from the bed and laid on the floor beside Jack. "Thank you for taking care of me."

"You're welcome. It was nothing. I wasn't going to let Bray hurt you."

"It was brave to hit him too."

"I had to do something. He knocked out my big brother and hurt you."



" I still think you are brave. You've never done anything like that before." She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. They looked at each other and kissed fully on the lips slow at first then more passionately. Finally they broke away. "That was..."

"Good." Jack answered.

"I was wrong to be with Bray. I only wanted to be with him because he was popular. I should have went with what I thought and felt." Ebony sighed as Jack wrapped his arms around her waist.

"What was that?"

"To be with you." Jack's heart began to beat wildly. Ebony wanted him. He never thought about Ebony that way until tonight. All of this could have been prevented if only he wasn't so blind in the past.

"Nothing matters now. We can be together now. "Jack kissed her again. Everything would be alright. Nothing is more powerful than the love of a friend turned lover.

Chapter 9: Part 2

"I'm going home." Jack stated as he left his place on the floor with Ebony.

"Please don't leave. Just lay with me a little longer." She begged.

"I have to go home eventually." He shook KC to rouse him.

"What if Bray is still there?" Ebony got up and stood behind him, her arms around his waist and head against his shoulder blades.

"Then, I guess I will have to hit him again." Jack laughed and pulled KC from Patsy. "We've gotta go, KC. Tell Patsy bye." he turned back to Ebony. "Do you want to come with me to make sure that I am okay?"

"Yes." She clung to his arm as KC, Jack, and she went down the stairs and across the road. They went in the door of Jack's house to find Lex on the couch. He was listening to music and didn't even turn to look at them as he spoke. "Bray is gone for good. I've learned my lesson." he sat up. "I want to join your group, Jack."

"Are you sure Lex? If you do that you are a sworn enemy of Bray's." KC added.

"Yeah, I'm sure. Ya'll were right." He sat up and looked at them. One of his eyes was black and there was a blood clot near his hair.

"Who did that to you?" Ebony asked running over to him.

"Bray did, when he stopped bleeding." Lex winced as she touched where the blood was.

"We shouldn't have left you." Jack added looking down.

"No that is okay. I deserve it. That is basically what I did to you and KC for the last couple of years."

"Well, welcome to the light." KC slapped his oldest brother on the shoulder.

"Is there a plan to defeat the dark side?" Lex asked with a laugh.

"In time. In time." Jack answered.

Chapter 10

Monday morning found the entire school torn between the Preps and the normal/socials. Lex had left the preps taking Ebony, Amber, TaiSan and Jaymes with him. This left Bray with only Ellie and his underlings. But Ellie had the weapon to get Bray back his kingdom. Jay wouldn't be the most powerful man in school for much longer.

"Jack," Ebony started as she and Jack walked down the hallway hand in hand. "I think Bray is up to something."

"Why? Did you see him do something?" Jack asked trying to see Bray.

"No. He was looking at Trudy and Martin with a smile on his face. That is not a good sign." she pulled Jack towards Trudy.

Trudy was talking to Martin and Jay. "Hey, Ebony and Jack. How are the newest love birds in school?" Trudy beamed.

"We need to talk to you." Ebony announced. Ebony, Trudy and Jack stepped away from Jay and Martin. "I think Bray is going to do something to you and Martin."

"Why do you say that?" Trudy asked looking to Bray who was now smirking in her direction.

"He was smiling at you and Martin. You know that is so unlike him." Ebony looked back to Bray. Now Ellie was standing next to him with a picture.

"SHIT!" Trudy exclaimed.

"What's wrong?" Jack asked.

"I was drunk and Ellie took a picture of me and Jaymes kissing."

"That is not good!" Ebony and Jack said at the same time.

"What am I going to do?"

"I think you should tell Martin before his brother gets a chance to." Jack offered.

"Okay." She walked back to her boyfriend. "Martin, I need to tell you something."

Jay left and Martin knew something was about to happen. "What's happened?"

"Martin, I was drunk at the party and I kissed Jaymes."

"You only kissed him right?"

"Yes, but that isn't all." She looked down. "Ellie took a picture of it and now Bray has that picture."

"Damn! Trudy, I can't believe you. You kiss another guy and then you give someone who hates us the fuel to fire on us!" Martin lashed out. He could live with Trudy kissing another guy. They could get over that, but Bray wouldn't stop until they broke up now that he had proof of Trudy doing something wrong. It was about to be World War 3 in the middle of this school and his house.

Chapter 11

By Wednesday, all sides had been chosen. And things were beginning to look bad for the good guys. Martin broke up with Trudy. he thought he could get over her kissing another guy. He just couldn't. Jay was with Amber now, but Bray was planning his attack and that started with anonymous notes to Amber with threats of beatings if she didn't leave Jay. But she was going to stay with him. She was finally happy and nobody was going to stop that.

The big thing was Jack and Ebony. Nothing has been said to them yet. It was as if Bray had forgotten that Jack had taken Ebony from him. But no news was not good news. It was just silent. Both groups were completely silent except for Trudy's pain that she took out on Bray. She would hit and throw things at Bray anytime that she saw him. he didn't care. His plan had worked. Trudy and Martin were now broken up. There was no reason why his brother should stay with that awful bunch of people.

"Trudy, it is going to be okay." Jaymes stated softly as he smoothed Trudy's hair.

"Jaymes, you don't understand. He left me. My love. He was my first love. He loved my daughter like she was his. Not his brother's child." Trudy sat up and looked at Jaymes. "Could you ever do that? That was the most manly thing I've ever seen any guy do. Martin too responsability for something that he didn't even do."

"I would take care of you and your daughter till the day that I die if you would just give me a chance." Trudy looked into Jaymes' eyes. She knew that he meant it, but she wasn't ready to admit that she couldn't get Martin back. Jaymes was a good man. Guys like him didn't stay around long. TaiSan had lost him. Trudy needed to decide what she wanted from him before he moved on. Could she love Jaymes like she loved Martin? Only time could tell.

"I love you, Jack." Ebony stated as Jack leaned against her. They were leaned against her locker. Jack was just holding her. She loved the way he touched her. Like she was the most precious thing in the world.

Jack kissed her softly. "I love you too." He wished this moment could last forever. He had the woman that he loved. He had taken her from the most popular guy in school and no one was retaliating. Sure it would happen soon, but he didn't want to think about that. He just want to touch Ebony to make sure that she was really in front of him. That she was his and he was hers.

"This is so surreal." Ebony stated wrapping her arms around Jack's neck. "Last week we weren't even friends anymore and now we are in Love."

"We were always in love. We just didn't know it." He kissed her again. "We needed a push to get us together."

"Well, what ever it was that got us together. I'm happy it happened. I've got you now and I am never letting you go."

"Are you still getting those notes?" Jay asked Amber in math class.

"Yeah, but I'm not worried about it." She continued to scribble down the numbers.

"How could you not be worried about it?" Jay leaned over to look at her paper.

"Hey! get your own answers." She covered her paper. Jay stuck out his lip and she giggled. "And I am not worried about that because of this."

"Because of Calculus?" Jay asked with confusion.

"No! You ditz. Because of us. We're together. Nothing can bring me down from this happiness." she took his hand in his when the teacher had his back turned. Jay kissed her hand.

"What do you think is going to happen?" KC asked his oldest brother while pulling his girlfriend onto his lap.

"Obviously, Bray is going to try to attack our strength." Cloe answered the question before Lex could.

"Yeah, he did strike a point by breaking Trudy and Martin up." Ved added kissing Cloe's bare shoulder.

"He was very preoccupied with trying to break them up." Lex elaborated. "He believed that Trudy tricked him into getting her pregnant. I always thought that she was just drunk and it happened."

"That is what happening.'' Patsy added pushing a frisky KC away. "Bray is just paranoid. From what Trudy tells Jay, every time he takes Brady, he tries to keep Martin away from her until Trudy gets the baby back."

"He was always thinking that Martin was trying to take his daughter from him. No matter how much he hated Trudy for having Brady, he still loved his child." Lex told the group.

TaiSan sauntered to the table that they all sat at and stood in front of Lex. "Hello, Lex. I was wondering if you would walk me to class." He just looked at the others before getting up and walking TaiSan to her class, holding her hand.

Chapter 12

"I'm through. I'm not doing anything else for you. They are broken up and I got to see Trudy hurt the way that she hurt me." Bray placed the photo on the table and slid it to the other person.

"I ask no more of you. You did your job well." Jaymes took the photo and looked at it. There was his angel kissing him. He held in his hands the instrument that broke apart Trudy and Martin. This was his most sacred object. "You may leave. Thank you for your services." With a wave of the hand, Jaymes dismissed Bray. "Thank you very much."

"What do ya'll want to see next?" Jay asked as he yawned wide. He got up from the couch much to the dislike of Amber.

"I want to see Romeo and Juliet." Ebony announced causing Jack to choke on his drink.

"Ebony, that was a joke. Don't make me relive saying something stupid." Jack pulled her closer and whispered in her ear.

"No. I want to see it. And you are my Romeo." She kissed him softly.

"Okay, anybody wanna see something else?" No one answered Ved. "Okay, Romeo and Juliet it is." Jay grabbed the video and put it in before returning to Amber on the couch.

It was odd being here with all of the couples for Trudy and Martin. Not to mention, that Trudy was beside Jay and Martin was beside Amber on the couch as they made out. Trudy wanted nothing more than to go over to Martin and tell him how much she loved him and wanted him back, but when he made a decision, he stuck to it.

Martin stared at Trudy. She was so beautiful. He wanted to hold her forever, but she had done him wrong. Bray was right about one thing, all she did was cause pain and hurt. Of course Bray said that after she turned down his proposal for marriage. No one knew about that. Bray would die if people knew that he loved someone that didn't love him. But at least he still had his daughter. Brady is such a beautiful baby. She looked like Bray but she had her mother's grace and inner light. Martin was planning to take care of her and her mother for the rest of their lives, but some things don't work out. Now Martin held a diamond ring in his pocket and knew that he would have to pawn or sell it. Trudy would never wear it.

The next day at school, Jaymes connected himself to Trudy's hip and wouldn't let her be without him. He had to make a claim before any of the other guys in school got any ideas. He couldn't let his and Bray's work to be in shame. "Trudy, I was wondering if you would like to go to a party this weekend with me."

Trudy wasn't exactly ready for another party. The last one had been traumatizing. "Sure. Who is throwing it?"

"Oh, just an old friend." Jaymes smirked. Another one of Bray's famous parties. This one was at a nightclub. Trudy would be none the wiser and none of her friends would be there to crash and ruin his plans.

"Cool. I'll wear something sexy." She kissed him on the cheek before going into her clothing class. She didn't like the way that Jaymes was treating her lately. He was acting very odd. Not like himself at all. Well, maybe she could talk to Cloe and Ebony about it. They were in this class.

"Hey, chicka!" Cloe greeted Trudy. "What's wrong? You look like you are thinking pretty hard."

"Jaymes is acting weird. I don't know what to think." Trudy opened her notebook to make it look like she was paying attention to the teacher.

"You know, it might have something to do with the other day." Ebony added.

"What do you mean the other day?" Trudy asked with curiosity.

"Well," Ebony started. "I was at work the other day when I saw Jaymes talking to Bray. Bray gave him a picture then acted like he was angry. Jaymes thanked him and then waved him off. It was odd. Like Bray was working for him or something."

Trudy looked to the door. "Really now? I guess we are going to have to play spy and find out what the deal is. Tell everyone to meet at my house after school."

"Want us to ask Martin too?" Cloe asked.

"Yeah. I think this could affect him too." Trudy began to write a letter to Martin quickly.

Chapter 13

Trudy closed the door to her bedroom and turned to look at her friends. "I've asked you all to come here for a special reason. I think that what has happened between me and Martin was set up by Jaymes. Ebony could you tell the others what you saw while you were at work?"

"Sure. Bray and Jaymes were talking. Bray gave Jaymes a photo and Jaymes said thank you. Bray became angry and left after Jaymes waved him off." Ebony sat back down next to Jack.

"So you think that Jaymes set the whole thing up." Martin stated more than asked.

"Exactly. He has been acting weird and he broke up with TaiSan before we even broke up. Like he knew what the outcome would be." Trudy reasoned.

"Then this is a time for action." Jay announced. "I know he asked you out already. He had to."

"Yeah. He did. He said something about a party that an old friend was throwing." Trudy answered Jay.

"Wait..." Martin stood up. "Is the party this weekend?"

"Yeah?" Trudy was very confused.

"At a nightclub?"

"He didn't say."

"Oh. Shit! He is taking you to Bray's birthday party." Martin announced.

"I should have known something was up when he wouldn't tell me his friend's name." Trudy walked over to her daughter's crib and took her in her arms. "I was almost going to let him meet Brady. Now I am glad that I didn't"

Martin touched the baby's head. "So am I." Trudy looked into his eyes and knew that he still loved her. She still loved him. That was all the fuel that she needed to put Jaymes and Bray in their place.

They made plans on how to get into the party and foil Jaymes' plan. Then, they all left except Martin.

"Trudy, I'm sorry for just breaking up with you like that. I should have known that you wouldn't do something like that unless you were drunk." he hugged her with the baby between them.

"I was still wrong and I can understand if you want nothing to do with me for the rest of our lives." She began to cry softly.

Martin dried her tears then kissed her. "I could never leave you forever. I love and I always will. I was just hurt that you could want another man."

"I will regret that for the rest of my life." She cried more openly this time.

Martin took Brady from her arms and kissed the baby on the top of the head before placing her back in the crib. "I love you Trudy. I hope you love me too. I don't think I could live another moment without you."

"I love you, too, Martin." She kissed him. "Does this mean that we are back together?"

"Not yet. I want to wait until we've paid Jaymes back in full. That way anything that you have to do to pay him back won't get in the way of us."

"I understand." Trudy smiled. Her life was back in order. The man she loves is back in her arms again.

Chapter 14

The girls dressed their best for the party. That was their way to get into the club. Only Ebony, Amber and Trudy would be able to go. The younger ones would be hard to get into the club; so, they would stay behind and watch Brady.

The girls walked down the stairs of Trudy's house to model for the men. Ebony wore black and red leather. Her trademark club wear. No one looked better than her in it. Amber wore some tight black leather pants with slits all the way to her knee and a tight white tank top. Trudy wore a red miniskirt and a navy blue top.

"How do we look, boys?" Amber asked from the bottom of the stares. It took a few seconds to get their attention from the video game but when they looked their jaws hit the ground. Even KC and Ved were in awe.

"You look hot!" Jay answered. He walked over to Amber and wrapped his arms around her.

"You all are lucky. You don't have to share your women with anyone." Martin kissed Trudy. "I just want to stay here with her all night."

"Come on." Trudy pulled him towards the door. "We have work to do. Then we can play."

The music was blaring and it was dark. It wasn't too hard to get in. The girls looked sexy enough to slip right by and Martin got the guys in by saying that he was Bray's brother. Jaymes made a very quick move to get Trudy before any other guy asked her to dance.

"Ready to dance, love?" Jaymes asked before sweeping Trudy off to the dance floor. Everyone went to their battle stations. Jay went to mingle with other people to see what he could find out about Bray and Jaymes. Amber went strait to Bray to try and trick the truth out of him. Ebony and Jack played the part of decoys to make Bray angry and Martin kept an eye on Trudy and Jaymes with his instant camera in hand to catch Jaymes' folly.

Several hours later, Jay, Amber, and Martin met to discuss what they found out.

"I found out that Jaymes and Bray had planned on us to crash the party for weeks. We fell into their plan." Jay announced.

"Bray said that all he wanted was to see Trudy hurt like she hurt him when she wouldn't marry him." Amber reported.

"Then, let the festivities begin." Martin clapped his hands. Amber and Jay danced over to Trudy and gave her the signal to start acting like she was drunk. A few minutes later, Jaymes began to lead Trudy towards the door to the alley. Martin followed closely and hid behind a dumpster. Just as Jaymes was about to kiss Trudy, she slapped him and Martin took the photo. He come out from behind the dumpster and opened the door to the club. Jay and Jack came out holding Bray. "You guys thought it would just be great to break me and Trudy up?" Martin asked poking his brother in the chest. Jack and Jay let go of Bray.

"I just wanted to get Trudy back for treating me bad." Bray raged. "She tricked me into falling in love with her and getting her pregnant."

"Bray! Why would I want to get pregnant?" Trudy asked. "I can't be a teenager anymore! The only thing that I had left after getting pregnant was your friendship and Martin's love. And you tried to take both of those away."

"And you Jaymes. What is your reasoning for breaking Martin and Trudy up?" Jack asked.

"I love Trudy. I wanted to be with her." Jaymes smirked.

"Bullshit. If you loved her you would want her to be happy." Martin lashed out.

"So what are you going to do to us?" Bray asked.

"Nothing." Trudy answered. "You are going to live with you own conscious for the rest of your life."

"As for Jaymes," Ebony added. "The picture of Trudy slapping you will be on a flyer on every wall in the entire school."

Later that night, Martin, Trudy, Jay, Amber, Jack, Ebony, Ved, Cloe, KC and Patsy sat in Jay's back yard just talking.

"May I have everyone's attention?" Martin asked as he jumped up from Trudy's side. Everyone became silent. Martin held out his hand to Trudy. He kneeled in front of her. "Trudy, I have loved you since we were children. And I will love you for the rest of my life. I want to give you this ring. It's band never ends like our love. Please wear it to show that we are committed for the rest of our life as we are already committed to each other for all eternity." He placed the ring on Trudy's finger and she kissed him.

"You didn't even have to ask." She continued to kiss him to everyone's applause.
