This page is meant to publish modified (Star Wars) ships for Homeworld.
New: ship publishing in Anark media files
(in case you can't view these files, you want to install the Anark client v.2.04.1177
directly from the main Anark site, www.anark.com)

Anark animation of 'Eagle One' bubble fighter. |
Anark animation of 'Apollo'. |
Secondary objective is to provide background information for creating Homeworld MAD animations. You'll find an extensive Animation Tutorial, and a copy / mirror of Tech's MADing section on this site.
The ships published here are mainly intended for use in Homeworld. Only two
ships have been
made explicitly for Homeworld Cataclysm (the 'MoonFish' modular mothership and the 'Jedi StarFighter').
'MoonFish' I constructed for testing HWSE capabilities of creating specific Cataclysm PEOs, and to
be the first modder who actually creates a modular Cataclysm mothership. It's
challenging to create motherships for Homeworld in general. The difficulties I
experienced creating 'Silverwing' made me start
programming animation display & control for HWSE together with Delphy.
One of the latest changes to the Tatooine Base MOD has been the creation of LODs
(Levels Of Detail) for a few ships. LODing is something which I believe can be
controlled automatic (rule-based LODing), for instance using HWSE v.1.41 beta 2, for
which I programmed mesh-reduction.
For HWSE I also did gun-targeting windows, SHP/MEX
cross checking, normals recalculation for Cataclysm PEO smoothing, etcetera.
Programming HWSE is nice, but what I like most is creating smooth, continuous meshes with lots of subobjects for heavy animations and turreting. It's my intention to have animations (a MAD file) with every ship I make, although some have to do without because they're not really fit for it. Feel free to tune ships as you like and please drop a note if you really want something changed or improved.

'Spirit of St. Louis', sistership of Khar Selim. The UnitViewer SHIP file contains a little story about it's history.
'Eagle One', a bubble fighter from the movie 'Lost in Space', as flown by the movie character 'Don West'. The original designer, Evan Davies, shows three different prints for this fighter. The other two are 'Jeb's' blue bubble fighter (called 'Ranger One' in the movie, available on request), and a bubble fighter in tiger print. I chose to do the shark print, although the tiger print is very nice too.
'CR-90 Corellian Corvette',
as r1 HeavyCorvette. Note the texture corruption at the engine trails (due to
too many 256x256 textures used with other ships).
This ship actually has eleven engine exhausts, but HW only shows a maximum of
four engine trails (although more than four 'engines' can be defined in the SHP & MEX files).
The SW:NR mod also has a model of this ship, but this one's completely new, with new
textures.
'MoonFish', modular HW:C race_sect moship
Death Star r2 mothership
Jedi Starfighter
(JSF) as HW:C race_sect Acolyte & ACV, thought to make good use of 'linking'...
I've recently adapted it to the HW r1 CloakedFighter slot too, but without the
animation.
Apollo as r1 RepairCorvette. The last two pictures show HWSE usage in the design process.
