The Warhammer is one of the most common crafts you will encounter in the game. It is also one of the deadliest. Despite its size and fairly low top speed it is a frightingly agile vessel. A combination of this agility as well as a decent shield rating, one of the strongest hulls of any ship in the game and the Warhammers ability to bombard its target with a combination of quad Plasma Rockets and Duel Railguns all adds toghether to make an exceptional killer in almost any situation.

Weapons Set-up: The two most common weapons set-ups for the Warhammer are shown below.

This set-up consists of two Plasma Rockets, which can be set-up to fire in Quad Plasma Rocket formation, and Dual Railgun which can be linked to fire at the same time.

This is the most commonly used Weapons set-up for the Warhammer and allows the pilot to kill alomst any vessel quickly and efficiently. It also allows a quick switch between Plasma and Railguns which is important for achieving the deadly Plasma Rail combo.

This set-up consists of Two Plasma Rockets, which can be linked to fire in Quad Plasma Rocket formation, Dual Railguns and the addition of a single Pulsar Laser, which can be set to fire in Dual Formation.

This set-up is often used by newer Warhammer pilots as it gives the added advantage of a rapid fire Laser Weapon however this set-up can rapidly reduce your ships Weapons Energy as well make the rapid Plasma Rail switch much harder to execute as such this weapons set-up is used by very few if any vet pilots.

Hardware Set-up: Below is the Hardware set-up for the Warhammer.

The Warhammer spoils you for choice when it comes to Hardware set-up. The vessel has more than enough spare Hardware slots but ensure that the basics are present; Lateral Thrusters, Lead Target Assist, Afterburner, Afterburner Reserve and Combat Scanner. This Hardware set-up alos includes the likes of; Ammo Hold, Shield and Laser Reserves as well as Speed Booster.

How To Fly A Warhammer - These are a few tips on how to get the best out of the Warhammer.

  • Master the Plasma / Rail combination it is without doubt one of the most powerful weapons combinations avaliable.
  • Remember a direct Quad Plasma shot will put most ships on there back foot as well as completly destroy many others.
  • Stick close to an opponent until you get their shields down then open up a nice gap and kill them from a distance with your railguns.
  • Warhammers are not fast if your opponent doesn't want to be caught then don't bother chasing them, just keep away from any long range potshots they may take at you.
  • Use the Warhammers great agility to your advantage.
  • Use two of the following depending on what you find works best and what sort of ship your fighting.
  • Either match an opponents speed "9" key does this, this works well on other Warhammers and Pegasus pilots who slow down to hit you.
  • Turn all chargers off and try to use higher speed to get the better of them again this works well on slower ships but also not quite as well on fast ships.

How To Kill A Warhammer - These are a few tips on how you can go about beating a Warhammer

  • Don't get to close to a Warhammer, it is deadly at close range especially to weak ships such as the Pegasus.
  • Don't fly predictable flight paths.
  • Do keep your distance and lateral thrust erratically.
  • Keeping your distance makes it harder for Warhammer pilots to hit you with their Plasmas, as you are able to see them coming early and thus are able to dodge them.
  • Do perform tight turn manouvers. The nature of the Plasma rocket means that it is hard for a Warhammer pilot to get an accurate and clean hit on a ship turning at a much greater rate than they are.
  • Count your enemies fire time. Railguns can only fire ever 5 or 6 seconds. Count to this amount and then lateral thrust erratically, this combined with distance makes it harder for a Warhammer to hit you.
  • Remember a Warhammer only has enough weapons energy for 5 or 6 twin railgun shots, so bide your time and wait for them to go on the defensive before you attack them at full force.
