Iceman(1984)**** Scientist's find a neanderthal man frozen in the ice. They bring him back to life and put him in a domed inhabitaion full of plants and streams. Timothy Hutton developes a relationship with the iceman. Very realistic film with an amazing ending

I Come In Peace(1990)*1/2Dolph Lundgran tracks an alien who drains the fluid from humans to use as a drug on his home planet to get high on. Plenty of action but little fun.

The Illustrated Man91968)**Three Ray Bradburry stories are linked together by way of Rod Steiger's tatoos. "The Veldt" is set in the future where two childen have a holographic room and trap their parents in their with lions. "The Long Rains" is set on Venus where astronauts try to make it through a rain soaked lanscape to safety. "The Last Night" is about a family who decides to put their childen to death to save them from the upcoming civilization. The individual stories are perty good but the linking naration isn't.

I Married a Monster From Outer Space(1958)***Good low budget version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. A recently wed woman finds that her husband is acting wierd and finds he been taken over by an alien. Scary little film.

The Incredible Melting Man(1978)*Terrible film tries to be a throwback to the 50's horror film but is just plain disgusting. The sole survivor of a trip to Venus begins melting and goes on a murder rampage.

The Incredible Shrinking Man(1957)***1/2Richard Matheson's novel is brilliantly brought to life by dirctor Jack Arnold. Tremendous effects give realism to an amazingly dramatic and depresing tale.

The Incredible Shrinking Woman(1981)*1/2Silly parody of Incredible Shrinking Man has Lily Tomlin who shrinks to nothing after being exposed to some chemicales. This films lacks the drama of the original and sadly is just silly. Directed by Joel Schumacker.

Indedence Day(1996)***1/2Incredible alien invasion film from director Roland Emmerich set in New York and other major cities around the world. Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum team up to destory the alien invaders. Great effects perfectly blend with solid comedy in this modern day version of Earth vs. the Flying Saucers.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade(1989)****Third in series of Indy adventures is nearly as good as first. This time around Indiana tries to rescue his father played by Sean Connery and ends up going after the Holy Grail. Film begins wonderfuly with Indy as boy and never lets up from there with Sielberg as the director.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom(1984)***Sequel to the much superior Raiders of the Lost Arc starring Harrison Ford and Kate Capshaw. Indy goes in search of some stolen children and a secret stone. He finds a palace with undergound caverns a cult of Kali Ma. Lots of fun but lacks the rousing adventure of the other two in the instalments.

Innerspace(1987)**Overlong variation on Fantastic Voyage starring Dennis Quaid and Martin Short. Quaid is minaturized and accidentaly injected into Short's body. Short is then persued by Kevin McCarthy who wants the mineratization microchip. Passable comedy is directed by Joe Dante.

Invaders From Mars(1953)***1/2A young boy witnesses an alien landing though his bedroom window. He then begins to suspect people of suspicious behavior and notices the nobs on the back of their necks. Scary film told from the aspect of the litte boy.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers(1956)****One of the best of the 50's sci-fi films with alien's taking over human bodies. It's up to Kevin McCarthy to stop them. Don Siegal perfectly captures the parnoia and horror of the story.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers(1978)Scary remake of 56 film starring Donald Sutherland, Jeff Goldblum and Lenord Nimoy. Story is same as the first film but feels more like a horror film than a sci-fi film.

Invasion of the Saucermen(1957)**1/2Fun little b-movie about teenagers who stop an alien invasion. Real highlight is the big bug headed aliens.

The Invisible Boy(1957)***Robby the Robot turns a boy invisible as a reward for being put back together. Robby runs amok after a central computer tries to use him to take over the world.

The Invisible Invaders(1959)**Low budget shocker of aliens who take over the bodies of the recently dead to roam the Earth. Inspiration for Night of the Living Dead?

The Invisible Man(1933)****James Whale's perfect adaptian of H.G. Wells novel. Ground breaking effects and a geat story make for great entertainment. Starring Claud Rains.

The Invisible Man Return's(1940)***Vincent Price stars in the solid sequal to the original Invisible Man. Price, wrongly imprisoned uses an injection of invisiblity to escape and find the real murderer.

The Iron Giant(1999)***1/2Fabulous animated tale of an Iron alien who crash lands on earth and is mistaken for a monster. He befreinds a little boy, E.T. style, and ends up saving a town from destruction. Fun for kids of all ages

Island at the Top of the World(1974)***1/2Excellent adventure fantasy about a lost Viking civilization hidden in the Anartic. Great mythology and excitement.

The Island of Dr. Moreau(1977)***Remake of 33 film is not quite as effective but still lots of fun. Burt Lancester takes over the Moreau part and Michal York the stranded victim.

The Island of Dr. Moreau(1996)**1/2Third adaption of the novel is a little grotesque but still quite scary and fun. Worth the while just for Brando and the fabulous creatures.

The Island of Lost Souls(1933)****Chilling adaptain of H.G. Wells novel about a mad scientist who creates part man- part animal creatures. Charles Laughton is marvolous as the mad Dr. Moreau. Bela Logosi also stars.

Island of the Burning Doomed(1967)***Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing Star in this fun British sci-fi film from director Terence Fisher. Aliens try and burn the humans to death with a heat wave

It Came from Beneath the Sea(1955)***1/2First class monster movie with a giant octopus attacking the San Fransisco Bay. Great effects from Harryhausen and a fun story make for great entertainment.

It Came From Outer Space(1953)***1/2Landmark alien invasion film in that it shows the aliens as benevolent creatures who want to go home. The aliens can take human form. Scary and fun.

It Conquered the World(56)**Passable Roger Corman quickie about an alien hiding in a cave. Fabulous carott alien.

It Happens Every Spring(1949)***1/2Professor Ray Milland creates an ani-wood substance and decides to secretly use it to play Major League Baseball. Not only a funny fantasy but a heartwarming one as well.

It's a Wonderful Life(1946)****Frank Capra's life reasuring masterpiece gets better every year. Jimmy Stewart gives the permormance of a lifetime as a man who loses his will to live after nothing seems to go right in his life. It's up to his guardian angel to show him what the world would have been without him. A film that should be seen year round and not just at Christmas.

It! The Terror From Beyond Space(1958)***Low budget inspiration for alien has an alien sneaking a ride on a rocketship and one by one killing the crew members. Solid 50's fun.
