Chameleon 3: Dark Angel(2000)**A genetically engineared female super agent tries to stop a black hole being created by a teen genius in this passable tv movie. A team of hightech agents supervise her every move.

Charly (1968)***1/2Cliff Robertson's Oscar winning role as a retarded man who undergoes surgey and becomes a genious. Fine performaces all around in this very touching film. There is a weird feel to the film as there is little background actors or noise.

Cherry 2000(1986)**1/2Melanie Griffith stars in this post apocoliptic tale of love. Melanie helps a guy travel into the forbidden zone to replace his love robot. And ofcourse they run into some bad guys and a little trouble. Inventive ideas and likable characters make this a slightly above average Mad Max style adventure.

A Christmas Carol(1951)****First class production staring Alastair Sim as Srooge. Sim perfectly captures the depth of the miserable Scrooge. The supporting cast is also very strong in a film that doesn't miss a single step.

Circuitry Man(1990)***Inventive b movie set in a future where the surface is no longer inhabitable. The tital character teams up with a female bodyguard to travel underground to New York. They are running from a weird bad guy called Plughead.

City of Lost Children (1995)***1/2Weird french film about a scienctist who steals children to help make him dream. Inventive ideas along with a strong production design put this above most. Staring Ron Perman.

Clash of the Titans (1981)***Lawrence Olivier and Harry Hamlin star in this fun film filled with Greek mythology. The real star here is Ray Harryhausen's special effects. The Medusa scene is a must see.

A Clockwork Orange(1971)****Stanley Kubrick's nightmare masterpiece about a young man named Alex played by Malcom McDowell. Alex leads a group of teens called Droogs who roam the streats looking for fights and stealing. Alex is captured and put through a purity experiment and cured of his violent tendancies. Once out he unable to defend himself as he constantly runs into his old victims. A one of a kind satire that only Kubrick could have pulled off.

Close Encounters of a Third Kind (1977)***1/2Landmark Steven Spielberg film about a group of people who are summoned by aliens to travel to a selected spot to take a ride on their spaceship. Film beautifully unfolds with great adventure and music. The only downside is the slow ending sequence that unfolds with the speed of a slug.

The Colossus of New York(1958)**Cool looking robot monster compensates a stale plot. Staring Ross Martin whoes brain is put inside the robot after being hit by a truck

Colossus the Forbin Project (1968)***1/2 First class sci-fi thriller of defence computer taking over the world. Freightning and realistic.

Congo(1995)**1/2Old fashioned adventure film is spruced up with some modern day effects and interesting story of killer gorillas guarding a city of diamonds. Lots of fun to be had if you ovelook the incredibly stupid characters.

Conqest of Space(1954)***Elaborate George Pal space film of the first landing on Mars. Movie shines with effects and adventure but misses on characters and writing.

Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972)***Very intersting third chapter picks up with two apes traveling back to present day Earth going through the same trial as Taylor did in thier time. Entertaining satire turns the tables on the viewer with the audiences being on the apes side of things.

Contact (1997)**1/2Well meaning but misses the mark with too much preaching and bad characers. Jody Foster and Mathew McConaughey seem out place with this futuristic story. Great effects which strive to please the mind and not the eyes.

Contaminated Man(2000)***1/2This wonderful independent thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final exciting scene. Peter Weller is accidentaly infected with a deadly concoction of chemicles turning him into a walking disease that can kill a man with a mere handshake. William Hurt plays the sympithetic scientist who attempts to save his life. Vivid viral movie is not for the squeemish

Countdown (1968)***1/2Robert Duvall and James Cann star in this wonderfuly realistic acount of the first moon landing. Film is amaisingly indepth in to characters lives while on Earth and tells an amazing story of survival on the Moon.

Crack in the World(1965)***Fun story of scientists trying to master the power of the coar of the Earth. In the process they cause massive vocanoes and nearly tear the Earth apart. First class production with great effects and sets.

The Crawling Eye(1958)**1/2Forest Tucker stars as a guy who uncovers the mystery of some deadly fog in the Alps. Its turns out to be a one eyed monster. Plenty of erie mood and fun from low budget thriller.

Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954)***1/2Sensational Jack Arnold monster movie about a group of scientist who travel to South America to find the title creature. The underwater photograpy and score are maarvolous.

Critters 3 (1991)**This time around a group of people are trapped in a building against the little creatures. There's some fun to be had as the residents make their way to thee roof and try and stay alive

Crosworlds (1996)**1/2Rutger Hauer stars in this futuristic actionier. There's plenty of good will for the characters and interesting ideas to keep this b-movie afloat.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon(2000)****Oscar winning foreign film about a magical fighting technique where the fighters can fly through through the air. A special sword is stolen by a young woman who is a master swordsman. She is challanged by many opponents but none can stop her. Thats until the original owner of the sword tracks her down. Amazing fantasy tale that packs a real punch.

The Crow (1994)***Stylish film from directer Alex Proyas about a murdered man who is lead back from the dead by a crow to gain revenge on his killers. Effects and mood remind the viewer of Blade Runner, but it's tough to find anyone to care for. Branndon Lee stars.

The Crow: City of Angels(1996)*Sequel to the blockbuster hit the Crow lacks the originals dramatic pace. Sad film just trods along with loud music and relenting dark effects and sets

Cry of the Banshee (1970)*1/2Dated horror movie about Vincent Price, a crazy witch killer who is cursed by a supposed witch. She calls to Saton to summon a spirit to kill Price and his family. Slow and tedious but has a chilling suprise ending.

Cube (1997)***1/2A group of strangers awake and find themeselves traped in some kind of deadly maze. They have to travel from one room to another to find their way out. The trick is some of the rooms are deadly and some are safe. Totally original and scary sci-fi horror film.

Cyborg Cop (1994)An undercover cop goes to the Carribean to find his brother who has been transformed into a cyborg. All stupid action with John Rhys-Davies.
