Good Bye So Soon

So many season finalie's became series Finalie's this time around. And for this reviewer thats always a bad thing if it's based on ratings. I like to see a show go out on top like Babylon 5 did. I know that's probably not practical in this day and time, but I can dream.

Of all the season finalie's out there definetly the X-Files got the most hype. And diservidly so, its been around for 9 seasons. Some of which are among the best of what this genre ever has had to offer. But for the X-Files it looks like it was about a season too late for most people. The fans and the critics seem to agree that the show has nearly hit rock bottum. At least the X-Files had time to do what ever they could do!

Roswell never got off the launching pad. They kept changing the show trying to get better ratings and before long the show was in the can. The dumpster is a sad place for a show with a lot of great episodes and so much promise to end up. The dumpster was the perfect place for one show to end up :Lexx. It should have been there by the second episode.

The sadest news of all is for Dark Angel. Heres a magnificent show that was a constant number 1 on our tv chart. The series was consistantly great and was really just getting started. It main star, Max, was possibly the most fun to watch on tv today and the supporting cast was also superb. After only two season's it looks like it's the end. If theres one show the Sci-Fi Channel could save it's this one. The only good part about the whole thing is that years down the road we can look back at a great short run show and rank it up there whith the other great tragedies of ou time: Max Headroom, Now Again and Harsh Realm.

All in all it was a sad April but there is excitement on the horizon with Stargate coming to Sci-Fi and a new show called Odyssy 5 taking it's place on Showtime.
