The Matrix: Reloaded

The Matrix: Reloaded was by all means the ideal squeal for the fans and new comers of The Matrix. The Matrix set up the story that told us of the world in which the characters existed. The story was set, the war was on. The first Matrix brought us a blast of new CGI effects that boggled our minds and changed the way CGI effects were used in the Sci-Fi and Action genre. It developed a story that many couldn't help but follow because of its epic plot and amazing eye candy. This saga that will be completed next fall with the release of Revolutions can be compared to that of Star Wars in its day. Weather your a SW fan or not there are striking similarities in both fan bases in respect to their times.

The Basic Theory of a Trilogy
The first as stated shows us the story what the matrix is all about. A taste of what is to come. It ends with a definite opening for a squeal. It is left so that the story can almost go anywhere from that point.
The sequel part 2 it's time to get serious. The story has been set we all know what is going on but we want to know where its going. A rule of thumb for a sequel you take what was good in the first one and make it better and more complex. In most Sci-Fi movies take the course of non-stop action or at least more. They give us a new environment for our characters to interact with. In Reloaded we get to see Zion. We see how the people of the "real world" live, eat, breath, and, party. The threat is the dreaded machines are tunneling to Zion to wipe the humans out. The people of Zion and our heroes must stop this from happening some how. In the matrix our heroes have come to know their powers better and they are fighting back and winning. With "the one" on their side they seem impossible to beat. With Neo's powers at the level in which they are of course there is going to be sequences where reality is blurred in a computer world. Next, new characters are introduced and old one's secrets are revealed. The new characters each bring something of their own to the table. Another character has changed drastically and become something that he isn't. All things mentioned are what define what makes a sequel new and exciting.
The third movie, the movie that makes the trilogy what it is. It brings us to the ending. The third will bring the epic to its end. The third usually combines the elements of story and action back in a more balanced atmosphere. With these two things combined our story comes to an end. Hopefully a true ending, no one likes a fourth one destroying the reputation of the true trilogy. (The Aliens series *cough cough*)

The Summary
Reloaded was not only a text book sequel, it was fucking good. The new characters were slick and sleek with what they brought to the table. The action sequences where breathtakingly amazing. The sequences didn't become old due the improvisations in fighting styles and environments. The effect shots were great and relative to the power of the characters. When you have characters that are very powerful in a virtual dream world "of course" the destruction is going to be pushed to extravagant levels. So in closing The Matrix: Reloaded was the proper amount of story and action for the second movie in the trilogy. I recommend this movie to any and all people. To those who disliked it based on whatever reason they hold I say "nah" to them. I would hope that they take a second look at the movie and at least think about it.
