- Update on the Methos Chronicles campaign. Please do not send email to me regarding it; I am simply distributing the letter for anyone interested in how it is progressing:

Hey Everyone! Stephani Reid here, although most of you know me as Rowan.

Back from the cruise and still trying to regain my sense of sanity, but here is what I can impart right now.

Bill Panzer was very impressed with the volume of letters that I was able to collect in a short time.

I approached him right after a Q&A and asked if I could have a moment of his time. I then asked him for his permission to launch a letter writing campaign from the fans to help promote the the new HL4 movie. He stopped me and told me that he didn't like the term HL4, he has named the new movie "Highlander: The Legacy" and wants it referred to as that. Then he asked me what I had in mind. I explained that we would like to start writing the various entertainment venues in support of the movie. He was a little surprised and then told me that no one had ever asked him that before and that he thought it was a good idea. He has asked me to put into writing the venues we had in mind and then he would be able to direct us into the venues we hadn't thought of. Before we begin this, he wants to get the correct information to me, to us essentially, so that everything we write is accurate.

I then told him about the letters I gathered and he was extrememly impressed, more so about the fact that we understand that for him to be able to continue the HL saga, the movie has to show a really good profit. That really impressed him guys, the fact that we understand this. I want you guys to know this, he was IMPRESSED and said so. (I'll quit repeating it now) We did good.

Bill said he would really like to continue HL in one way or another, but right now the money isn't there. He confirmed that there would be a better chance of getting a new HL series if "HL: The Legacy" does well.

So, yes, as soon as I get a letter off to his office, he said that his assistant will fax, forward it to him in Bucharest and that he will put in writing the permission I asked for. He wants us to do this, of course he does, but he wants us to do it right and he is willing to help direct us in the right places.

What I'm going to ask from you all is if you're really willing to help out with this?

I think it all came off quite well with the limited time I was allowed with him. The buttons were a hit also. I'm really proud of you guys for taking the time to send me so many emails. They made an impact.

How was Peter? Well, honestly, I didn't get to spend much time, like none, with Peter. He kept to himself and Carolyn very much during this cruise and everyone really respected his decision.

He did say, during the main Q&A that while Methos definitely wanted his own show, he didn't know if Peter did. And he went on to contradict some of his earlier standings on things. The one that sticks out most in my mind is the fact that before he had always said that stage work was something he found boring: doing the same thing night after night. Now he said he is permanently based in Vancouver and would like to do some steady stage work. His priorities are definitely changing with the baby coming, which in my opinion is a good thing. As any of us with kids know, priorities continue to change and grow as the children do, so he may take a different stand later. But as of right now, he's made it clear he would really like to be able to stay in one place. You have to give the man credit for telling us this.

That's it for now. I'm hard at work on my proposal to Panzer, and the minute I receive his letter I will let you all know.

Also, once I sort through all of the little bits and pieces of paper I wrote things down on at night in my cabin, I'll get my con report out. I'm hoping to twist jam-wired's arm into putting up a site for me with pics and all. Hopefully she'll love me enough to do this! :-}

Once again, thanks guys and I'm hoping that we can make a success of this. It's nice to know that Panzer is willing to help us do it right.

Steph ~ Rowan

- News on next year's HL cruise. Will there even be one? Again, please do not send email to me regarding it; I am simply distributing the letter for anyone interested:

Date: Thu, 11 Nov 1999 11:57:49 -0500
From: "rhboyd"
Subject: Next year's HL cruise

Sorry for the cross-posts, but I wanted to get this information out to all the lists I frequent. Please feel free to pass this on to any other lists or forums.

I had a chance to talk to the owner of Cruise Adventures on Sunday and asked him whether there was going to be a cruise next year. He said a decision has not been made by Panzer/Davis and that if we want another cruise we need to flood them with emails and faxes letting them know that we want one.

Plans will have to begin in January for another November cruise so it is important that those communications go to Panzer/Davis quickly.

He said if there is another cruise it will probably be from the East Coast again because they can get accommodations on bigger ships. He wants to see us go on the ship from the first cruise, the Sovereign of the Seas, with Royal Caribbean. As I remember they did have nice large meeting rooms and it was a lovely ship.

The Sovereign of the Seas is being relocated to Port Canaveral which is only a couple hours from Orlando and the Disney/Universal/MGM entertainment areas which would make it nice for people who want to extend the cruise into a Florida vacation.

If you want another cruise planned for next year it's important that you add your voice to the throng.

- Cold Feet has been canceled! Peter had a guest appearance in two episodes. The series was canceled shortly after his first episode aired.

- Yes, folks, it has arrived: *The* Mouse Pad. What is *The* Mouse Pad? It's the prize for the next Asylum contest! But more than that, it's a Methos mouse pad signed by none other than Peter Wingfield! As you may have noticed, the Asylum has roughly three contests a year. In a few months, one lucky winner will be the owner of *The* Mouse Pad. May it be jam-wired of the MacMINT Asylum, Padded Cell #1? Hell, no! That's against the rules! It may, however, be you. Keep your ears open, your eyes pealed, and your nose tuned...

Join us next month for more clan updates. Same clan time. Same clan channel.
