DaiKaiju Island

Godzilla has been the star of over 20 films, and 2 cartoons. He has appeared on television frequent times, and even went on to win a Lifetime Achievement Award from MTV. And though many adversaries have tried to de-throne him, only one could challenge up to Godzilla, a winged goddess named Mothra. Fans the world over are still awaiting a second brawl between the King of the Monsters and the mighty Kong. But Godzilla isn’t the only DaiKaiju out there in the large world of monsters. The second most famous would have to be Gamera.

Depending on the timeline, Gamera is a giant terrapin that rested under an iceberg until it was destroyed by a crashing plane that carried nuclear weapons, or in an alternate timeline, the continent of Atlantis created him to do battle with the Gyaos, an atrocious reptilian vampire bat. Gamera is the star of 10 movies, and is the number one header up of Godzilla. But there are still other monsters to cover, including Yongary of Chinese myth, Yonggary from the prehistoric past, Gorgo from the depths of the ocean, Reptilicus from the ground of the arctic, Gappa the triphibian monster, Konga the monster chimpanzee, the Rhedosaurus from 20,000 fathoms, the Ymir from Venus, and Kong from Skull Island (or Faro, or Mondo, depending on the movie). My three personal favorites are Godzilla, Gamera, and Yonggary.

I made this page as a school project, and I hope no Lawsuits will come forth from it. People may feel free to use my information and pictures, which were found with the help of The Official Godzilla Compendium (thank you J.D. Lees and Mark Cerasini, I love your book, I have a signed copy) and the Internet. As most B-Movie fans know, Kaiju is Japanese for Monster, and when you add the prefix Dai to it, it becomes DaiKaiju, which is Japanese for Giant Monster. All of the monsters on this website are classified as DaiKaiju with the exception of the “Gillman”.
