Welcome to Star Wars Galactic Battle Zone, a site dedicated to providing fans of one of the best real time strategy (RTS) games, Galactic Battlegrounds, up to date information of the game including patches, tournaments, expansion missions, and so on. SW Battlegrounds is based on the highly successful Age of Empires engine created by Ensemble Studios. Players of Age of Empires I and/or II (AoE) will be familiar with the interface, unit classes,and overall feel of galactic battlegrounds.

Players of Galactic Battlegrounds are given the option of choosing one of six civilizations (wookie, trade federation, imperial empire, rebel alliance, gungan, and royal naboo). Such as age of empires, each civilization as certain strengths and weaknesses, thus giving a player a variety of options in micromanagement of a civilization's economy, resources, and military strategy.

Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds features the following:

300 various units, each with its own rendered artistic detail
Control the battlegrounds over land, sea, and air
Manage your economy with 4 resources: nova (from ores), carbon (from trees, gas, etc.), food (farms, animals, and plants), and ilium (used to power lightsabers).
Battle over 50 terrain types such as tatooine, cloud city, space platforms, and asteroids.
Unique and special units such as the gungan navy, cloaked jedi, fierce wookie berserkers, and the naboo royal guards.
