Here it is, folk, the new dramatic epic plotline to the best Harry Potter novel. If anyone wishes to write this story, or variations on it, feel free, just cite my name (Toby Malfoy) and website, and send it to me so I can post it here! Alright, here goes!
The gang arrives at Hogwarts, only to find that there's a new fifth year, a very pretty, dark haired, pale girl who is cynical, but mysterious, named Toby Bat. There's something about Toby that makes people do very odd things. It may have to do with her eyes, which are black with a tiny green dot in the middle of each of them. It may have to do with her parentage, which is a secret until the end of the book. She has been living with a family friend, who took her far from England, and just now returned on holiday to London, where Toby finds herself being brought to Hogwarts. She is sorted into Slytherin, which is understandable, considering, but soon begs to be sorted out as she discovers her natural talents for the dark arts. Harry and Draco both fall for her, causing even more enmity between the pair. She is not the main character of the book, but causes alot of the conflict in the story, which is why I have dwelled on her. The new DADA teacher is a vampire who has been de-toothed and is quite harmless. Still, this stirs up controversy. Hermione and Toby start out disliking each other, possibly intimidated, but they soon become best friends when they get lost in the Forbidden Forest for a night. Toby is trying to sleep, but Peeves bursts in and steals her wand. He flies out towards the forest, and Toby follows, anxious to retrieve her wand. Looking out her window, Hermione sees Toby heading out, and decides to see what's going on. She chases her down, but by the time they find each other they are in the thick of the forest. They must spend the night out there, and finally Peeves returns with McGonagall and Snape and Toby's wand. They both lose 50 points from their respective houses, but they have bonded over the night and don't care so much anymore. As it turns out, Toby is Voldemort's granddaughter, hidden from the time of her birth (imagine the possibilities, "Toby, I am your... grand-father!" "No!" "Search within yourself, you know it to be true.") and her parents are in Azkaban, as they were proclaimed Death Eaters. Toby was born with a lightning bolt shaped birthmary on her wrist, like a mix between Harry's scar and the Dark Mark on the arms of the Death Eaters. Voldemort is much more powerful now, but is biding his time until a major attack, and now he has found a way. He senses a rift at Hogwarts for dark magick which is, of course, Toby. Through her, if she was willing, he could invade the school, kill Harry and Dumbledore. Harry has his nightmares about these plots, but all he hears if them talking about a rift, he doesn't realize that it is a person, let alone his friend and crush, Toby Bat. He doesn't say anything to Toby about it, she's not really part of their group of friends until she and Hermione bond in the forest. Meanwhile, Ron and Hermione are getting increasingly tense, as their feelings for each other are starting to show. Occasionally Toby will go pass out and have horrible headaches when she wakes up. These are Voldemort's attempts to gain entry to her mind. The rise of action of the book takes place when Toby is in the library, trying to find something about her family, when she stumbles across something that alarms her. She reads that Tom Riddle (aka Voldemort) had a daughter, Calliope Riddle, who married a man named Stephen Bat. It is known that they had a child, but the whereabouts of this baby are unknown. She reads on and discovers that the baby must be her. With this knowledge, Voldemort can finally enter her mind, and she is bound and transported once again to the Forbidden Forest. Unbeknownst to Toby and each other, Draco and Harry had both followed her to the library, and they both witness all that goes on. They go off to try to help her and run into each other. The enemies are forced to work together to find Toby. The climax occurs as they find Toby in the forest with Wormtail and Voldemort, being tempted to come to the dark side. Potter and Malfoy show themselves, which is kind of ridiculous, because Voldy knew they were hiding in the trees. Voldemort does alot of threatening type things, but the real blow comes when he informs Harry that his mother was a Death Eater, and he killed her because she was going to betray his secrets to Harry's father. Malfoy is scared out of his wits by Voldemort, but won't leave until Potter does, not wanting to seem like a coward. There is no real danger, except from Toby, for Voldemort cannot do any magick on Hogwarts grounds unless Toby lets him use her. She is told of power she will have, and more, but still she rebels. No one can think of anything to do, except stand with wands out. Then, suddenly, Toby and Harry kiss, which shatters Voldemort's hold on her, for his own flesh and blood kissing his enemy, the only person he could not kill is a powerful magick indeed. Voldemort and his follower disappear. Dumbledore steps out of the woods, where he has been standing, and escorts the kids back to Hogwarts. Draco now hates Harry more than ever, their temporary companionship gone, and starts acting like his old self. Dumbledore calms them all, unveils a bit more of Harry's tale, like always, and sends them on their way. This year Slytherin wins the house cup back, breaking Gryffindor's streak. Harry is upset to hear that Toby's kiss didn't mean anything except to dispel Voldy, and Draco becomes smug and derisive as Toby sits with him on the train ride back. This may not be the case however, remember we said that Toby is mysterious! There may be a deeper connection between her and Harry than we have found out...
I've had two requests for character integrations, so Claire will be a ghost, and Kate will be a seventh year who the Weasley twins are in love with, but eventually she ends up with Fred.
