Warhammer

•Chaos-From out of the desolate Northern Wastes the forces of Chaos come. Either mutated by the warp or lured with promise of easy powers from the dark gods, all the creatures of Chaos have an unnatural thirst for blood and destruction. There are twisted Beastmen who bray and bellow, grim armor-clad Chaos Warriors marching to war, and the very daemons of Chaos materialize from the warp to wreak a horrible toll on the lands of men.

•High Elves-The High Elves are the oldest and most refined of the civilized races. From their island home of Ulthuan, the High Elves have sailed out and explored all that is known of the Warhammer World. While the High Elves tend to fight in neat and well organized units and favor ornate weapons adorned with gems, do not ever doubt their battle prowess. Masters of the bow and lance, as well as spellcasting, a High Elf army is both an awesome sight and a deadly threat.

•Dark Elves-After a bitter civil war with their brethren, the Dark Elves were banished from the island homeland of the elves. Now residing in the bleak Land of Chill, the Dark Elves have totally embraced the path of foul practices and dark magic. Mobile and well armed, Dark Elf armies rampage and destroy across the Old World, retiring with loot and prisoners to their forbidding lands. No troop sums up how degenerate and bloodthirsty the Dark Elves have become like the Witch Elves - a frenzied warrior sisterhood that lives only to charge into combat, and bathe in the blood of the slain.

•Vampire Counts-The Vampire Counts are the immortal rulers of the evil Undead. Powerful and cruel beyond the comprehension of the living, they command armies of decaying Zombies, Skeletons, Wights and Ghouls to destroy the Old World. When a Vampire Counts army goes to war, entire graveyards give up their dead as the spirits of the fallen take up arms once more to fight under their unliving master.

•Empire-Carved out of a rugged land of dark forests and tall mountains, the Empire is the largest and most powerful human realm in the Old World. Although completely surrounded by enemies, the Empire maintains its precarious position through sheer might of arms. From dark-armored knights to the rank after rank of stalwart infantry, all fight for the Emperor!

•Liardmen-From out of the steamy jungles of Lustria comes a whole new army - the Lizardmen. Led by the most potent sorcerers in the game, the Slann Mage-Priests, Lizardman armies consist of the brutal but slow-witted Saurus, the quick and agile Skinks, plodding but powerful Kroxigors, and other cold-blooded beasts of war.

•Skaven-No land is safe from the threat of the vile ratmen, the Skaven. With a diabolical cunning, the Skaven have a webway of tunnels throughout the entire Warhammer World, from underneath the mountain strongholds of the Dwarfs to the sewer systems of the Empire and Bretonnia's greatest cities. There, black clad Assassins, rabid Plague Monks, and the seething hordes of Skaven watch and wait for the time to unleash their plans for the final apocalypse.

•Orcs and Goblins-Waaagh! Orcs and their smaller cousins the Goblins gather together in appalling numbers to raid and terrorize the Warhammer World. An Orc and Goblin army has a tremendous amount of different troop types to select from: there are Big 'Uns, Wolfriders, Savage Orcs, and loads more, as well as Trolls, and Giants who often join the hordes on the promise of food and captives (which are invariably the same things).

•Dwarfs-The Dwarfen Kingdom of old was prosperous and full of splendor and glory. The majority of the Dwarfen strongholds have fallen, one by one, in the bitter wars with the Orcs and Goblins or Skaven, until now the remaining few Dwarf cities are under constant siege. These centuries of war have hardened the Dwarfs and moulded them into some of the finest warriors of the Old World. Always a stubborn race, the Dwarfs still cling to what remains of their Kingdom, and dream of one day reclaiming their own (and extracting a terrible vengeance)!

•Bretonnia-The human Realm of Bretonnia is best characterized by their adherence to a rigid code of honor and chivalry. In fact the Knights of Bretonnia are well known and respected (or outright feared!) throughout the Warhammer World. With a wide variety of Knights, as well as the steadfast Men-at-Arms and Bowmen, a Bretonnian army is an awesome sight on the battlefield

•Wood Elves-Long ago the High Elves abandoned their cities in the Old World to return to their island home of Ulthuan. Some, however, stubbornly stayed, unwilling to leave their forest behind. These are the ancestors of the Wood Elves, who still live in the enchanted forest of Athel Loren. Having tamed the wild beasts and befriended the strange Treemen and Dryads, a Wood Elf army is unlike any other. Adapting well to their surroundings, the Wood Elves have developed many new troop types ideal at protecting their land. To this day the sacred forest of Athel Loren has never been conquered.

•Dogs of War-Adventurers, sell-swords and money-hungry freebooters - the Dogs of War are mercenary armies who live by fighting - fighting for heroic causes, fighting for adventure, but most importantly fighting for cash! While often found selling their sword arms to other Warhammer Generals, they can form independent armies under the leadership of a dashing Mercenary General. From the jungles of Lustria to the frozen glaciers of Norsca - If you've got the gold, they've got the fight!
