History of the Glen Innes Blood Bowl League

Founded in the chilly winter of 1998, the Glen Innes Blood Bowl League has been on and off for the past two years and has only just started to attract attention from members of the club. The original league contained twelve teams, only one of which is in the current season of the contest of the Blood Bowl Cup. Eventually I hope to have individual team pages posted here but until now you'll just have to make do with a name and brief description.

•Tides of Darkness-The Tides of the Darkness are one of the real contenders for this season's Blood Bowl Cup. Having played three games their results so far are 1-1, 1-0 and an upsetting 1-0 loss to Kragg's Thunderers. The latest purchase for this team is Count Luthor Von Drakenburg who should add some grunt to the team's offence.

•Stunty Smashers:Currently sitting last in the competition, the Stunty Smashers have failed to achieve a win yet. Lead courageously by Frodo they have had two gory clashes so far. In a tight game they lost 1-0 to the Tides of Darkness before being massacred (literally) 2-0 by the Ulthuan Champions. In that game onlt Frodo remained on the field. The addition of Deeproot Strongbranch should improve their game though.

•Mighty Midgets:The Mighty Midgets are a slightly more successful Halfling side having defeated the Orcland Raiders when they still graced the field. The Midgets are lead by their courageous captain Willow Bladebranch, the treeman blocker with attitude.

•Kragg's Thunderers:Kragg's Thunderers would not have come so far if it weren't for three incredibly skilled players. The Dwarf Deathroller often graces the field for a moment before being sent off and the insane Grim Ironjaw has earned his share of scalps against the Tides of Darkness and Chaos Killers. It has been the only non-Dwarf on the team who has caused the most interest in this team. Matthew Johns, human Catcher, has scored a remarkable four touchdowns in his teams three games this season.

•Chaos Killers:The Chaos Killers started off the season with a lot of promise before suffering a debilitating loss to Kragg's Thunderers in which Arbaal and Kharne, their two best Chaos Warriors, were badly injured. They have recently hired the services of Lord Borak who should improve his team's offence greatly.

•Reikland Ravagers:The Ravagers have played only one game this season and were upset by Ulthuan Champions. The team is typical of human teams, promising a lot and delivering so little. At present the side is in negotiations with the Mighty Zug who is interested in making a comeback.

•Orcland Warriors:The Warriors are the remains of the old Orcland Raiders side combined with the powerful but now defunct Downside Murderers. The Warriors have had one outing so far which was a 1-0 win over the Stunty Smashers. Like the Reikland Ravagers they are in negotiations with star players to improve their side.

•Altdorf Bulldogs:The Bulldogs are an experienced side, in fact they joined during the 1999 season along with the Skavenblight Horrors. It was against the Skavenblight side that they suffered an embarassing 3-0 loss when their defenders couldn't seem to grip the agile Skaven runners. They are lead by courageous Hazem El Masri, a visitor from Cathay with talent in the game.

•Ulthuan Champions:Voted the 'Biggest Bunch of Sissies' in last year's Blood Bowl Awards, the Ulthuan Champions have bought well in the off-season and rocketed their team to second on the ladder this season. The two heroes of the team, Prince Moranian and Eldrad Ulthran have been a revelation in last season's biggest dissapointment. Eldrad has scored a pair of tries as well as saving several in the team's two games, including the mutilation of the Stunty Smashers. These two games have lifted their crowds greatly.

•Beech Grove Dancers:The Beech Grove side is yet to play and Jordell Freshbreeze is itching to get onto the field along with Treeman Blocker Orion Strongtrunk..

•Da Big Waaaagh!!!-The most successful of two Orc teams, Da Big Waaaagh has a reputation for not knowing what a football looks like. Their general game plan is to use Wazdakka and his friends to smash every living thing in sight and hope on of them has the intelligence to run the ball.

•Urien's Ichor:Another of the unseen teams this season, Urien's Ichor will be a deadly force if it ever takes the field. Not only does Horkon Heartripper play for the team but also promising newcomer Urien Poisonblade, Goblin legend 'Torpedo' and Thrugg Edcrush the Ogre.

•Slaan Predators:As the first Lizardman team in GIBBL history, the Slaan Predators are expected to do little this season. Their Kroxigor blocker is already in negotiations with three sides who all need the muscle.

•Naggurand Bulls:The Chaos Dwarves haven't been as impressive as their 'less evil' cousins this season. On their one outing they were defeated by Kragg's Thunderers 2-0 and had their star Gutter Runner decapitated by Thruggi.

•Da Sneaky Gitz:Da Sneaky Gitz are yet to play this season but they are set to make an impact (crater) when they hit the field. Sporting not only Fungus the Loon and Bommer Dribblesnot, the side also has star Black Orc Blocker Ripper Headcrush.

•Skavenblight Horrors:The Skavenblight Horrors haven't played this season but still remember their 3-0 thrashing of the Altdorf Bulldogs last season. In the off-season they purchased promising Rat Ogre Skreet and Skaven mutant Hakkflem Shuttlespike.

•Sewer Raiders:An alliance between rejects from the two above teams, the Sewer Raiders have not played a game yet.
