Beth's Homepage!
My name is Beth (in case you hadn't guessed) a.k.a. Boffin (if you're brave (or stupid) enough), and I am an age-embarrased Australian (not old, just unwilling to disclose). Hmm... What else??
Personal Info:
Here's some (relatively) basic info about me.
- 5 ft 10 in
- Brown hair (I can finally reveal this as fact after not messing with it for about 6 months trapped in the Hairdresser's Hell that is Mannheim, Germany)
- Green eyes, when I'm angry or under the influence, Hazel-ly colour the rest of the time
- Sadly, just realised how totally out of date this website is, but I just haven't got the time/energy to do much about it except whinge. :) So here's me whinging. Okay, enough of that.
I was studying at Adelaide Uni, but am done there. Yippee for me.
I was lucky enough to go study in Europe 2 years ago, and am in perpetual awe at the magnificence of APS film. If you are one of the many uneducated, go here. If not, you will understand why I have returnded to sunny Oz with over 1200 photos of Europe, which will probably never be seen by anyone but my immediate family and friends. I toyed briefly with the prospect of putting these up on the web, and decided no, that would be bad. Very bad. You may understand why when you see what happened to these poor souls.
Some hello's go out to the following!:
Liz, Adrian, Justin, Ben (Devil Frog), Camille, Kate, Ben (Kate's Ben), Jane, Kit, Jane&Paul, the Zonies et al, ad infinitum... If you aren't here and think you should be, chastise away and I'll think about changing it.
Hobbies:
I have a number of hobbies that serve to occupy my free time (that is time not spend worrying about the fact that I am not actually doing any work....) They include:
- watching Red Dwarf when Channel 2 oblige and put it on late at night (just when all us Sci-Fi freaks are up of course... Simply because we like strange British comedy means we enjoy being up at midnight, does it???)
- playing lots and lots of Zone 3: laser skirmish for those unaware...
- spending copious amounts of time watching all the Buffy re-runs on Fox8 (Yay for Foxtel!!)... And Angel which is also on Fox! (Oh joy) BTW the links are to my fave sites for these shows, not the official ones....
- shopping (when I have the money (yes, it does occur occasionally))
- sleeping as MUCH as possible (to catch up on what I miss when I'm up late at night watching TV)
- being Editor/Webmaster of the Adelaide University German Club - go us! :) We rock, by the way.
- watching movies (fave video/DVD at moment = err, NFI. Haven't watched any for a bit. Fave movie = Love Actually (soppy but kickass))
- reading funny books by funny people... Current reads are: Ian Rankin's "Inspector Rebus" series - they rock, and the Harry Potter's! I liked both movies, but really, Lord of the Rings was waaaaay better.
You used to be able to e-mail me any comments or criticisms at my email address, which lived here as a link, but since I'm getting Spammed Galore, I removed it. So nya nya nya.
Below are some favourite sites of mine, other than the links above, which probably tell you a fair bit more about me than the junk I've written previously!!
- The Living End website ~ if you know me in the least, you know how much i love these guys and attempt to proliferate TLE everywhere!!
- Out of interest, am on the e-team for TLE, and we are currently promoting their Player - so go
check it out. Now that the boys are back in Oz, check out the tour dates here...
- U2's ZooNation jump-off point... ~ Links to heaps of Music web-site, but mainly U2 stuff (my second favourite band! And no, I am not living in the 80's....)
- The Cure's Homepage ~ my third most loved band!
- Thanks heaps to Guy at Image Alchemy for the really cool background... Check it out, there's heaps at his site!!
- Eat-out.com ~ a good way to find restaurants in Australia! (Do I get paid for plugs?? Sadly, no.... I'm just a nice person....) This is growing really fast, and it has some great places on it, some even submitted by me!
- is my favourite search engine for now....
- will complete this later....
