"Carter, you're not serious." Colonel O'Neill scowled from across the table. His arms were folded across his chest in what she liked to call his 'Defensive' stance. But after four years, she saw it more as his "I Don't Like It But I'll Listen' stance.
"I'm very serious, sir. This could save your lives one day. I'm not always going to be around. Besides, it's about time you guys learned. It's been what, four years?"
"Yeah, but Carter, do you really think it's necessary to teach us how to hotwire a Goul'd ship?"
"Colonel, I can count well beyond my fingers the amount of times I've had to do it." If she was honest, she'd lost count of just how many times she had to rig a descent pod, or a cargo ship, or a mothership for that matter. It was easier than it looked and really, she could be doing more important things like working on shields and weapons instead of opening doors to bathrooms and bedchambers.
"She has a point, Jack."
O'Neill turned his glare to Daniel but the scientist studiously ignored it. Instead he reached for the crystal sitting before him on the table.
Carter briefly wondered what Teal'c was doing. For obvious reasons, she hadn't mandated him to this impromptu seminar. While the Colonel frequently voiced his doubts about Teal'c's ability to actually do more than press a button, Carter was confident he could fend for himself. She did have to concede, however, that Teal'c had the fascinating tendency to just disappear whenever anything technological came up.
"Alright, Carter, but don't come crying to me when you've got nothing to do because we've learned to save ourselves." His eyes carried a twinkle of mirth as he continued to glare down at her. She bit back a smile and plucked the blue crystal from Daniel's hands.
"Wouldn't dream of it Colonel. Now, you see this crystal here..."
