Welcome to our page devoted to these timeless classics and newborns alike. We'll give you our personal ratings of the movies as well as the opening crawls. However, the drawback is that this page is under construction. Keep checking back when we inform you on the news. For now, all we can really offer you is this brief thing on Episode I and the movie scripts to each film.

Star Wars: A New Hope

The Empire Strikes Back

Return of the Jedi

Episode I: The Phantom Menace

Maximum rating is five 's

Episode I: The Phantom Menace

  • Click here for the movie script
  • Original Release Date: May 19, 1999
  • BobaFett688 gives it: because:

The special effects kicked, and so did the lightsaber scene. And, to be quite literal, so did Darth Maul (Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and of course, the bucket.)

  • SlaveOne712 gives it: because:

Just cause this movie didn't leave me with "the feeling" the others did. And oh yeah, before I forget, three words. JAR JAR BINKS!

  • Did You Notice...
  • The battle droid walking around with no upper body? Right before the first time Qui-Gon boards the Queen's Starship.
  • Jar Jar making faces at the Royal Guards? Right after they land on Coruscant, you can see in the background Jar Jar is waving his hand in front of the Royal Guards' faces, kinda like in England.

    A New Hope

  • Original Release Date: May 25, 1977
  • BobaFett688 gives it because:

For any movie, it was good. But for a Star Wars movie, it just wasn't that good. It was kinda boring, and I've fell asleep watching it on several occasions.

  • SlaveOne712 gives it: because:

Because it was what started the whole thing. The phenomena. Without this, Star Wars would be stuck back in the sci-fi section with all those cheesy Flash Gordon type movies. And we certainly wouldn't want that, now would we.

  • Did You Notice...?
  • Boba Fett? This was only in the Special Edition scene with Jabba and Han in Docking Bay 94. Just as Jabba says, "Bosska!" and the scene ends, you see Boba Fett in the corner.

    The Empire Strikes Back

  • Click here to read the script
  • Original Release Date: May 21, 1980
  • BobaFett688 gives it: because:

This was definately the best movie out of the original trilogy, if not the entire saga. The climatic lightsaber duel was great because of you-know-who being you-know-who's you-know-what.

  • SlaveOne712 gives it: because:

Again with the halves! Trust me, I really think it's great, just not as great as ANH. The climatic lightsaber duel and the revelation of... um... "relations" made it a great film, the second best if you will. And if you won't, screw you!

    Return of the Jedi
  • Click here to read the script
  • Original Release Date: May 25, 1983
  • BobaFett688 gives it: because:

This one was good, too, but it just didn't cut it the way ESB did. The Endor scenes would have screwed it over, except for the Ewoks...they're so loveable.

  • SlaveOne712 gives it: because:

It was good. 'Nuff said. Okay, you want me to explain. It started off good, with the Tatooineness and all. The middle, with those little Ewoks and the Endoreness and what not. And of course, the final battle royale with Palpatine, Luke, and Vader, two of which kicked the bucket, much in the same manner as Darth Maul. And what with the Death Star Two-e-ness and all.... or something like that.
I didn't like it all that much for a number of reasons. Do I want to list them. NO!

  • Did you notice. . .?
  • I can swear one of the Ewoks said, "That guy's wise," very quickly.
  • Looping? That's good, cause neither did I. According to The Unauthorized Star Wars Compendium, Lucasfilm dubbed some of RoTJ, and at that they said the looping was bad. Gimme a break. I've seen it countless times, and I haven't noticed no loopin'!
  • Did you notice. . .?
  • All the original release dates were in May. We're guessing that pattern will follow with the next two prequels.
  • Did you notice. . .?
  • These are getting to be annoying. I did...

Thanks to the Star Wars Essential Guide To Characters for the exact release dates!
