The Tarsan System
The Tarsan system is one of the most potentially dangerous systems in Federation Space. From the map to the left, the Tarsan system is indicated by the square to the top of Federation space, Earth is the larger dot. As can be seen, the Tarsan System is close to both the Klingon, Romulan and Cardassian borders, Ferengi space is also not too far away.
The Admiral in charge of Starfleet Operations in the area is Admiral Juanita Suarez. The Seventh Fleet is the home fleet for these "waters" and consists of (amongst others) the USS Iliad, USS Lexington, USS Crazy Horse, USS Hathaway, USS Roosevelt, USS Carrington, USS Storm and USS Alexandra. The Tarsan system is a system principally consisting of Class M planets. The main planet within the system is Tarsus III around which Starbase 32 orbits. Tarsan III was settled by the Federation although due to its position most species from the Alpha and Beta Quadrants are represented. Tarsan III has a population of over twenty seven million.
There is only one other settled planet in the Tarsan system and this is Tarsus V, the Federation settlement on Tarsus V however has very little dealings with its neigbours and keeps itself to itself. It was settled over three hundred years ago and is now home to a thriving agrarian community.
