Last Coin is classic example of Blaylock's style. His characters are often off-beat, idiosynchratic and paranoid, but they all share one major thing: They turn out to be right in the end. Such is the case with Andrew Vanbergen and his buddy, Beams Pickett.

Vanbergen is in the process of opening an inn as the book begins, and has already begun accepting renters. One of them, a man named Pennyman, has something evil cooking, and Andrew Vanbergen can smell it.

I liked this book particularly for it's flair and for Andrew's peculiar and hilarious episodes with the cats and the incident at the old folk's home. I'd rate this probably as my second favorite Blaylock book.
