Last Call is a breathtaking novel, strange and mysterious, and set right under our noses in modern day Las Vegas. Scott Crane thinks he won a poker match (a weird sort of poker played with tarot cards) twenty years ago on a housebout in Lake Mead. But in essence he gave his father (who had tried to steal Scott's soul when he was five, and lost his genitals because of it) permission to steal his body and evict his soul.
Apparently, poker terminology and Fisher King mythologically were just designed to go hand in hand. An excellent book, that shows Powers in top form.
