Mulder jokes around...
Mulder drags Scully to a haunted house stake-out on X-mas eve. At first there seems to be nothing wrong as a reluctant Scully, finding her car keys missing, follows Mulder inside... So Mulder enjoys a bit of humor at her expense.
Then things turn odd.
Really odd.
Holy cow!
Or perhaps just hol-e.
These sinister spirits at first act like angry home owners when confronted. Maurice even tries psychology talk on Mulder. In one of the funniest lines in recent times, the ghost states with sarcasm: "I bet you've even convinced yourself you've seen aliens!"
Finally the ghosts drop their guise and show Scully where they shot each other in a murder-suicide over half a century earlier.
The ghosts try to trick M&S into shooting each other, but the intrepid agents figure it out and make good their escape.
