Chapter Five

Knock, knock, knock.

"Ryan! Time to get up for school!" My mom yelled.

I sat up and groaned and didn't want to go to school!

I swung my legs over the side of the bed and headed toward the bath room. I brushed my teeth and took a shower.

I then put on a white tee shirt, khaki pants, and my favorite sneakers.

I then headed down to get some breakfast.

"Hey little bro." My big brother said as he walked past me and gave me a nuggie.

I didn't say anything. I was still thinking about wether what had happened last night was real or not.

"Hey mom, what's for breakfast?" I asked as I came into the kitchen.

"Whatever you make yourself." She replied as she went out the back door.

"BYE!" My dad yelled as he slammed the front door.

Whatever I make myself, I thought to my self. This is going to be good.

I opened the refrigerator and got out the soda. Then I went into the freezer -I need a little ice cream be for school. Then I got out the Oreos, this was going to be one good breakfast.

After I had stuffed my face with junk food, I got my back pack and headed for the front door. I flung it open just as the door bell rang.

"He Ryan!" Brooke said as she grabbed my arm and pulled me out the door.

"Awww. How sweet! Ryan and his little girlfriend!" My brother Justin said coming up behind me.

"She's not my girlfriend.'" I said defending myself.

"Yeah right!" Justin said as he brushed past me.

"Never mind him." I said to my friends. "Any way, why are you all here? The only one that usually walk to school with me is Christopher." I said realizing that Brooke, Christopher, and

Phoenix was there.

"Well considering what happened last night, and how my mom and dad were when I got home, I think that some thing's up." Brooke said, carefully looking around the yard.

"You mean it wasn't just all my nightmare?" I asked, with my voice getting higher.

"No, it was all real." Phoenix said, with a sparkle in her eyes. Sometimes that girl scares me.

"You sure?" Christopher asked.

"Let me see." Phoenix said, she then pinched Christopher.

"Owwwwww!" Christopher wailed. "She pinched me! Ryan she pinched me! You're

supposed to pinch your self Phoenix! Not me!"

"Let's get to school guys." I said trying to take my mind off last night.

As we were walking to our high school, about half way there, we ran into Bernadette's clique.

"Look out!" Christopher yelled. "It's Bernadette!" He yelled as he ducked behind me.

"Christopher!" Bernadette yelled as she ran up to us.

"Hide me! Hide me!" Christopher whimpered pulling on my back pack.

"Oh Chris! You want to walk to school with us?" Bernadette asked Christopher.

"No, he's walking with us!" Phoenix said as she grabbed Christopher arm.

"Well may be he wants to walk to school with me!" Bernadette argued.

"Uhhh. Well I am walking with my group. So I'll see you at class." Christopher said at last.

"Oh. Okay see you then!" Bernadette said as she rejoined her friends.

"That girl has got the hots for you boy." Brooke said, I don't think that she realizes that

Christopher has got a crush on Phoenix.

"She's in her own private clique. I don't belong there." Christopher said.

"Well you're friends with me, and I'm in the cool crowd." Phoenix said looking puzzled.

"Well it's different with you Phoenix." Christopher admitted.

"How am I different then Bernadette?" Phoenix asked Christopher.

But we had made it to school, and Christopher and I had to run to class.

As we sat in our class, we sat in our regular seats. Christopher in front of me, to his left

Phoenix, to her left Brooke, behind Brooke was their friend Jam. And throughout the room

were their friends; Jean, Lita, Erica, Liana, Jenna and Mina.

Then Bernadette walked into the room and Christopher quickly sank into his desk.

"Oh Chris!" Bernadette yelled as she sat next to him.

Christopher blushed, and said "I don't like it when people call me Chris."

"But you let me call you Chris." Phoenix said looking puzzled.

"But it's different with you." Christopher replied blushing a bright shade of red.

"How am I any different?" Phoenix asked, but be for Christopher could answer, the teacher had walked into the room.
