We were suddenly, in a place that was not Earth.
"Where, are we?" Christopher asked me as he shook.
"I really don't have an answer for you." I said as I looked around and shook too.
The ground was flat, like glass. It was purple, yet it glowed with a light that was not from
Earth.
At least not that I have seen.
The trees are only about seven feet tall! The trunks of the "trees" were yellow and it had no leaves. Only blue flowers, that shown with a light that I had never seen. Never will see on
Earth.
I couldn't see a sun of any kind and I think that if the planet was so warm, it must have a sun right?
"Okay I'm ready to go home." Brooke said as she looked around.
Then I felt like a breeze, only I could feel that this wasn't air.
"Who, or what, are you?" I asked the breeze.
"What are you talking to?" Christopher asked looking at me like I had gone insane.
Then the breeze, or whatever it is, stopped. It became human like, only it was almost transparent, and it glowed, some what green, but not an Earth green.
"Who are you?" I asked again, this time with more fear then the first time.
"Yeah! We need answers!" Phoenix yelled as she finally stopped shaking her self.
"I am the Triumpherent." The voice said.
"Why are we here?" Phoenix asked, and I swear, she didn't sound afraid.
"Once we had hands like yours." The voice explained.
"I have chosen you humans to save your world." The Triumpherent said.
The words sent chills up my spine.
"From what?!" Phoenix demanded an answer from the being.
"From your doom of becoming the slaves of the Nox." The voice told us.
"Who is the Nox?" Brooke asked holding my hand tight.
"Why do you need us?" Christopher asked his body shaking so badly that you'd think that it was an earthquake.
"What is this place?" Phoenix asked with her hands on her hips.
"And who are you?" I asked.
"So many questions, now I will tell you the story. The Nox infested the species that lived on their home planet. The species was not considered to be sentient. Therefore, the infestation was irrelevant. A Nox is about one foot long, and is what you humans would call purple worms, it would be as thin as a pencil. It could infest you by seeping in through the pours of your skin.
The Nox continued to go through the galaxies and destroy any living thing that they
found. We destroyed the Nox's home planet and their host bodies. But now they are trying to
put their life back together."
"Then why do you need us? Why not do it yourself?" Phoenix asked.
"I made a deal with the Nox that we would never interfere with them again. So now that
they plan to take you as their slaves. We are powerless against them.
"Now you see why I need your help, and you must help us! I cannot stop them. But we can give you the power to stop them."
"I don't see why they want us humans." I admitted griping Brookes hand tight.
"They simply want your bodies, you are strong and have a good eye site. They also believe that you humans are not a sentient species.
I do agree with them that you are not a very intelligent species, but even if the species is
not intelligent, they should not be held as slaves."
"Okay, so this guy is saying that we are stupid, but that we should save the world from aliens?" Phoenix said, sounding really pissed off.
"Your time is running out. You must decide now."
"Okay we take a vote." I said at last.
"In." Phoenix said when I had finished.
"Why do you say you're in?" Christopher asked.
"I think we should do it. We get to save the world! Any way people are depending on us!" Phoenix said.
"I'm in." Voted Brooke. "She's my best friend, if she's willing to put her life on the line for other people, then so am I."
"Well. Like Phoenix said, people are counting on us. In." I voted.
"Well if my best friend is in, then I guess I have to say, in." Christopher voted.
"Very well. This world is the battle zone created by the Triumpherent and by the Nox.
You humans are not being picked up by the Nox's radar, but when I lift the clocking
device you will. The suites we give you are to protect you from the Nox's radar they will not
be able to tell that you are humans. They will know that it is not We but it will not be able to
detect that you are humans."
Then suddenly I wasn't in my jeans and tee shirt, but in what could be called, a plastic leather suite. I had plastic leather gloves on and what could have been army boots. The suite looked like it was tight, but it wasn't.
We also had like motorcycle helmets, with really cool visors.
"We are braking my law by sharing these suites with you humans. But we believe that you
found us, and that I should help you. Yes, we will get charged with braking the law of the sector
9-0-6-5 but that will be my fall.
We will help as little as possible, but you must do this your self. If I tell you too much, we could be denounced, and that would end the power. I must leave now, but I have
other plants that I watch over, never interfering, but watching none-the-less. Earth may be the most magnificence, but so many others are as strange and unique as this one.
"You must find the Nox's base with the weapons that you are given, and you must learn to
use the weapons and technology that are in your hands. You must never tell anyone who you
are or what you know. The Nox can be any were, anyone, and even your family."
With that, it, he, she, they. Were gone. A second later, we were back in Phoenix's basement, and back in our old clothes.
"That was so not real right?" Christopher said looking at me.
"It was so way real!" Phoenix said, yet you could see the fear in her eyes.
"They could be anyone." Brooke said in disbelief.
"Well it's late, way late!" I yelped as I looked at my watch, it was 9:00 P.M.!
We had left the house at 6:00 P.M., and now it was 9:00 P.M.?!
"See you guys later!" I said as I ran up the basement stares.
"Wait up!" Christopher yelled after me.
We ran out the door and I ran for my house, "see you!" I yelled to Christopher before I raced into my house.
Man was I in for it-or so I thought.
"Did you have fun at the movie?" My mom asked.
"What movie?" I asked my eyes bugging out.
"You were at Phoenix's house watching a movie, remember? You called us and told us." My mom said looking worried.
"Oh yeah!" I yelped.
I went straight to my room and went to sleep, may be I would wake up and this all would be a very bad dream. Back to home page
