Chapter Twenty-five
The day of the funeral we all stayed home from school, Christopher stayed at my house and we studied our spelling words.
"Okay spell adversary," I said as I quizzed Christopher.
"Uhhh, a-D-v-e-r-s-a-r-y?" Christopher answered with a shrug and sigh.
"Ding, ding, ding! You win!" I yelled as I jumped on my bed.
"Okay Ryan man, spell consequential!" Christopher said as he threw a pillow at me.
"C-o-n-s-e-q-u-e-n-t-a-I-l!" I shot back.
It was raining out side, and the room felt cold, damp, and gloomy, sort of like how I as felling.
You may think that we were have the time of our life, but really we were just trying not to lose our minds and break down crying and screaming.
"Let's check my E-mail," I suggested, getting board of spelling.
Christopher nodded yes and I logged onto the Internet.

"Oh boy, something tells me that D was just planning on studying and getting a taco."
Christopher said with a sigh.
"Must be some sort of meeting." I said, but before I could finish talking my mom yelled up to us.
"Ryan! Christopher! It's time for us to leave for the funeral home!" My mom yelled.
"Let's go man, Phoenix needs us man." I said with a heavy sigh, shaking my head as the tears rolled down my cheeks.
We walked silently to the car, and drove through the gloomy streets as it rained.
Ice was the first to speak, yeah, the Ice that killed Phoenix's dad Ben. "I am sorry to say that Ben was killed by a Anti One World terrorist, we are so sorry that this happened, and we are working on making it so that this will never happens again."
And yet we know that it wasn't true, that he had been shot by Ice. I watched as Phoenix's Mother
Jody cried and hugged her daughter Dion, her little baby Claudia sitting in her stroller not
knowing what happened, she will never remember her dad. The four-year-old twins' Rachel and Sara were crying, but I don't think they really under stood what had happened. Her seven-year sister Maggie, was crying, I don't really know if she understood. And Phoenix sat there, and just stared at the casket, never crying, but not showing any emotion.
"Phoenix you okay?" Christopher asked as he sat next to her.
"No." She said as she hugged Christopher, and smiled, "But I have my friends."
Brooke was talking with her mom and dad, what about I didn't know.
After the service part of the funeral, we head to the grave yard where they would bury him.
Before they burred him Phoenix sang the song that B*Witched wrote and sang called, To You I Belong.'
"Rain fell down you were there, I cried for you when I hurt my hand, you were there, storm
a-rushing in, wind was howling, I called for you, you were there.
Whenever dark turns to night and the dreams sing their song, and in the daylight forever, to you
I belong.
Beside the sea were the waves broke I drew a heart for you in the sand, in fields where streams
turn to rivers I ran to you, you were there.
Whenever dark turns to night, and all the dreams sing their song, and in the daylight forever, to
you I belong.
I ran to you. You were there.
Whenever dark turns to night, and all the dreams sing their song, and in the daylight forever, to
you I belong. To you I belong, to you I belong."
She has one of those voices, she really sounds like B*Witched, it's really cool.
When she had finished the song, the sky started to clear, don't know what that had to do with anything, but never mind.
Phoenix cried finally as she finished the song and the sun came out, she cried, not loud, but you
could see the tears coming down her cheeks.
Chapter twenty-six
The next day Christopher and I range Phoenix's door bell, she answered the door, "Taco Bell right?" She asked.
"Yeah." I replied, some what confused.
"I'll tell my mom where I'm going to be," she said then ran up the stairs to tell her mom.
"She seams to be doing well. You know considering what happened to her dad." Christopher said with a smile.
"I'm glad," I replied. "At least I have some hope of getting my mom and dad back. She doesn't have any real chance of ever seeing her dad again."
"Let's go!" She said as she flew out the front door.
"Wait!" I yelled. "We still have to get Brooke!"
"Oh yeah, you're right." She said as she kept on walking. Brooke and Christopher live on the next block over.
Phoenix rang Brooke's door bell and Brooke answered it.
"Bye mom!" Brooke yelled as she closed the front door.
As we walked to Taco Bell Phoenix started to sing, "I said hey boy sitting in your tree, mummy always wants ya to come to tea, don't be shy, strain up your tie, get down from your tree house sitting in the sky!"
She danced and sang the whole way there. I think it got on Brookes nerves when we got into the Taco Bell, and people were staring at us.
"Say you will say you won't say you'll do what I don't, say you're true say to me, C'est La Vie!" Phoenix said as she tapped her finger on the table.
"Can you stop now?" Brooke asked.
"Yes." Phoenix said with a sigh.
Then D showed up, "greetings' humans," he said with one of his playful grins that he has. "I take it that your singing lesions have paid off." D said making conversation.
"Yup." She replied.
"Let's go." D said as he held up the computer door key.
We headed to the back of Taco Bell, to were the bath rooms where.
"You guys really think we could do this?" I asked.
"Ryan, I mean this is the nicest way possible, shut up!" Phoenix yelled as she slammed the key onto the door and typed in the code.
We opened the men's room door, but instead of a bath room, there was a black portal.
"Ladies first," Christopher said with a slight bow.
Phoenix laughed and said, "me? A lady?"
"Yeah, you're a lady." Christopher said as he blushed.
Phoenix stepped through the door, and Brooke fallowed her. Christopher jumped through next, and I fallowed him. D came last, carrying the computer key.
We ended up in the protected danger room, and the lights went on automatically.
"Okay, computer access sector QYZ337," D said as he typed in letters and numbers faster than I could see.
Sector QYZ337 is protected by a security password. The computer reported.
"Password is Earthsendisnear." D told the computer.
"That is correct, pulling up the screen for the Nox's base in five, four, three, two, one." The computer counted down, and then pulled up the screen with the Nox's base on it!
"You got in!" Christopher yelled as he jumped up and down.
"Of course, it is only a simple Nox computer code, it is only updated once every human week." D explained as he studied the screen. "I would like it computer if you would run a check of all the entrances to the base." D commanded the computer.
Access denied, the alarm is now going off in the Nox's base, they are going to track down
where the computer instruction is coming from. The computer informed us of our situation.
"I did put a lock on the system so that they could not read where my signal was coming from." D explained to us as he realized that we thought that we might have been caught.
"That's good." I said with a sigh of relief.
One entrance was located before the transmission was cut off, would you like to view it?
The computer asked us with its voice that sounded neither male nor female.
"Yes, yes." D said as he punched in more codes.
"In the back of our school," I said aloud.
"I always thought that something was wrong with that school, but not alien base entrances." Christopher said with a Nervous laugh.
"Let's go!" Phoenix yelled as she left through the door of the danger room.
"Like she said!" I yelled as I went after her.
