Chapter Ten

After my long shower, (my mom told me after an hour and a half that I had to get out!) I got dressed and turned on my music.

I was desperately trying to forget what I had done to day. Should I really have told them to shoot? I thought to myself.

Would things be any different? Of corse, every time I do or don't do something, I change

thing. But still . . .

"Ryan!" My mom yelled shattering my thoughts. "Dinner!"

"I'm coming!" I yelled back.

I ran down to the table, and sat down.

"So what did you do to day son?" My dad asked after everyone had finished being served.

"Just chilled." I lied.

"How did you do that?" My dad asked, looking quite puzzled.

"We just sit around and do nothing at all." I replied.

"Oh." My dad said, I don't think that he got it at all.

But that wasn't really that important anymore.

My dad started to drown on about how bad work is. And then the phone rang.

"I'll get it!" I yelled jumping up from my seat. I picked it up, and said, "hello?"

"Ryan! It's me Phoenix, my dad just announced that the special group that he's been working with at work, well going on a trip to Washington, D.C.!" She yelled.

"What group?" I asked.

"The One World Group, they let anyone, any, sex, district, country, join. But not kids, it's to make all the people in the world one world and one people." She said in a panic.

"Uh oh." I said, thinking about the Nox.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I asked her.

"I wish I wasn't, but yes." She said, her voice calm.

"When does he leave?" I asked.

"Tomorrow at five o'clock PM." She replied with a heavy sigh.

"Oh great." I said.

"We have to save my dad!" Phoenix yelled.

"We will, we will." I said to reassure her, or myself. "After school we meet and go back into sector 91285, and we track your dad, we can save him, and find the Nox's base."

"Okay, you want me to call Brooke?" She asked.

"No you can call Christopher, I need to talk to Brooke, you know, I have to convince her to come along." I replied.

"Good luck." She replied grimly.

I told my mom that I was tiered, and that I was going to bed. I went to bed, but I sure didn't sleep, I never sleep anymore, I may never sleep all night for the rest of my life.
