Personal traits: Fast learner and quick-witted. His sharp tongue has nearly
gotten him killed, and now is under self-conscious control. Known for his
serious look - a thoughtful frown and squinting eyes. His movements are
methodical, precise from redundant training. Well-built and fairly tall for
a human.
Holds high regard to the chain of command yet understands when it simply
does not apply. Arguments over such matters have kept him from command of a
starship.
Personality: A very assertive personality that is demanding of others. By
most accounts a perfectionist - most jobs he trusts only himself to do
correctly, but has learned to allow others to operate as a team. While
sometimes egotistical of his abilities, he understands the role of a team
and the necessity of efficient operations.
Is never satisfied with the surface of things. Information must be intensive
and extensive in order to satisfy his tastes.
Hobbies: He typically does not allow himself too much free time, but has
been attracted to several hobbies. He studies tactics - new and old - and
will sometimes create mock-ups of battles. He is an avid historian, and
recently, a well-learned seaman. Holodeck programs range from mountain
climbing to sailing the Pacific.

Early Life: His childhood was spent largely traveling from place to place,
eventually ending up in San Francisco. His schooling was highly fragmented
but was able to complete schooling early at age 16. His father died
mysteriously after settling down on Utopia Planetia; he was a Star Fleet
research specialist. Joshua's brother, Jonathan, who currently harbors
anti-Fleet sentiments, believes his father's death was no accident.
Academy Life: A smart, brash student. He committed himself completely to
Academy course work, and quickly captured the attention of several
higher-ups. His dedication placed him in the top 10% of his class. He was
the youngest academy graduate of his class at age 20.
Cadet Cruise: USS Constant, under Captain Alan White. Served for 6 months.

Additional Comments: His once constantly mobile family detached him from any
sense of home or attachment to any one person or place. While he is
satisfied with the reported cause of his father's death (a chemical
accident), his brother's impudence against him has peaked his curiosity and
its resolution now remains a deep, personal motive.
While Joshua was considering entering an advanced starship tactics school he
was approached by an Admiral whose name he did not know and never did know.
The Admiral recommended and placed him into the newly formed School of Intelligence
Operations. He spent another three years attending this school.
