Choosing your makeup

As far as regular, mall-bought Halloween makeup goes, there are two types: grease and cream. Cream makeup dries quickly, and tends to crack and peel if applied too heavily. Cream makeup can be removed with water alone. Grease makeup never dries, and needs to be "set" with powder so it doesn't smear. It needs soap and water, or baby oil if you don'y want to wash half your face off. ;P

I recommend painting nearly your whole face with red cream makeup, except right around the eyes and the jaws. Let this dry, then you can paint the eyes and jaws black with the creammakeup. touch up the corners with grease makeup. The patterns themselves should be painted in greas makeup, since it's easier to work with. Touch up the areas around your eyes. Use a brush! Map out exactly where you want the paint before you fill areas in. "Map" out your entire face (a grease paint crayon works well), then add details. When you are happy with your makeup, lightly powder the makeup everywhere you put greasepaint. A powder puff, cotton balls, or a sock can be used. Brush off excess with a brush or some cotton.
