Why do we worship love? I can see the fantasy of its greatness, but I see the truth of it as well and let me tell you, it is not a pretty picture. It is the magnificently clever beast, for it disguises itself from its prey through the lack of definition of its feeling. It opens you up, leaving you vulnerable. Anyone would be overjoyous to feel love from its reputation. And just when it has you completely vulnerable (where you feel the most happy and safe, by the way) it strikes you straight through the heart, raged with fury and completely merciless. The selfishness of the one destroys the other. This, however, cannot be bestowed upon one as fault, for to live life unhappy and a lie would be to deepen the wound from the blow of love. Love should be used as a curse, a warning of ill deeds to come, 'Hail, sir, I bid upon thee the merciless beast love.' For this would be to bid them a wound far deeper than any mortal weapon could accomplish. For all thee who were fooled by its guise, I bid ye the fairest of luck. May God have mercy on thy soul.
