Playstation 2 Live 2001 Review

"NBA Live 2001"

NBA Live 2001'

NBA Live 2001 is simply put, OFF THE HOOK!!! Going head to head with SEGA's NBA2k1 for the crown of being this year's best hoops game, Live takes center court and is straped and ready for tonight's game. Loaded with what one might consider as too many options and extras galore, this game hits the Playstation 2 with a bang. This newest EA-Sports installment, holds true to the traditional Live series, bearing unforgetable gameplay and moves to make you cry for. On the graphics side of things, NBA Live 2001 out scores every other B-ball game to date. Player faces are actually closer to real-life counterparts than those in NBA2k1. (And yes, that is hard to do). The animations seem unlimited as the players constantly show emotions and reactions towards referees and plays that take place during game play. While this was also done in NBA2k1, live as always, takes things to the next level. Pumping intro music, and menu sound effects to the max, you will find yourself rocking to the tunes. EA-Sports only needed one small detail inorder to take the crown. That being something that the PS2 cannot do.... Online Game play.

Graphics: 9.5 (Players look incredibly detailed, but some what on the thin side)
Sounds: 9.0
Game play: 9.5 (Controls are tight as expected form EA)
Overall: 9.5 (Near-perfect NBA simulation)
