The funniest stand-ups in comedy: Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley, Cedric the Entertainer, and Bernie Mac brings good ole' fashioned humor to theaters everywhere. If you were planning on going to see this movie for the first time, and had second thoughts, I strongly recommend that you have a third. This is one of the funniest movies ever. It's surpasses even Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence's classic make-me-laugh comedy. Throughout the course of the movie, people began clapping and laughing as if there was no tomorrow. Steve Harvey played the role of the M.C. If you think that he is funny on TV, you will laugh for sure. He has the job of getting the crowd ready and pumped up. His joke handling abilities were nice and smooth, and he scored an overall average performance. D.L. Hughley was the only one of the four men that seemed somewhat confused or unprepared. However, he covered himself up every time by going all over the place and hitting everything from getting tired of work to being financially disabled. Oh yeah, and he added something about only having 52 cents for gas. To push his act even further over the top, he began picking on the audience. Possibly for extra attention. Cedric the Entertainer proved that he can still move when he has to, as he demonstrated on numerous occasions, break dancing and running scared on stage. Now comes Bernie Mac. Bernie talks about beating up his own kids, his family member's kids and even the audiences' kids. All before telling you that he's planning to open a free-of-charge, no-background check daycare center after he retires from comedy. This is the kind of stuff that makes you proud to have spent five dollars on a movie. Spike Lee is the director of the film. He does a respectable job on the overall presentation. When you see the movie, the first thing that you think is: "Here's another comedy concert". And, well, you're right. The comedians made a lot of their jokes dependent on audience participation, and Spike Lee's camera work gives you the feeling that you are actually attending a concert rather than a movie. The Original Kings of Comedy, are also the best kings of comedy.
