Here's a page that contains the highlights about what's in store on Disney XD, the new boys-centric channel that launched Feb. 13, 2009, taking the place of Toon Disney and the Jetix action/adventure block. If this page looks a little more light-weight than it was when it was a Toon Disney/Jetix highlights page, you're right. And it won't change until you-know-what is on the schedule.
I also maintain several schedules at Toon Zone. I'm back to posting the 24/7 schedules of XD. The ABC Kids schedule has just animated shows and PRRPM. CW4Kids is an inclusive list.
Disney XD
ABC Kids
CW4Kids
In accordance with Toon Zone policy, the schedules for live-action sitcoms (Suite Life, Even Stevens, Fresh Prince, etc.) are not included.
Disney XD targets boys age 6-to-14 (but doesn't see PR as a show for that demographic, go figure).
Here's a list of shows that hold a somewhat regular spot on the Disney XD lineup (or are still on the way):
Aaron Stone
American Dragon: Jake Long
Avengers: United They Stand
Batman: TAS
Bruno the Great (short form)
Cory in the House
Disney XD Movie
Emperor's New School
Even Stevens
Fantastic Four
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Gargoyles
I'm in the Band
Incredible Hulk
Jackie Chan Adventures
Jimmy Two-Shoes
Kick Buttowski
Kid vs. Kat
The Legend of Tarzan
Monster Buster Club
Naruto Shippuden
Phineas & Ferb
Recess
RoboDz (short form)
Shreducation
Silver Surfer
Spectacular Spider-Man
Spider-Man
Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends
Spider-Man Unlimited
Static Shock
Suite Life of Zack & Cody
Suite Life on Deck
Superman: TAS
X-Men
X-Men Evolution
Yin Yang Yo!
Zeke & Luther
The shows below were, at one point, in the lineup but aren't now. (temporarily? permanently? who knows?):
A.T.O.M.
Digimon Data Squad
The Famous Jett Jackson
Fillmore (maybe an occasional stack)
Get Ed
Iron Man
Legend of the Dragon
Oban Star-Racers
Phil of the Future
Pinky & the Brain
Pucca
The Replacements
Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!
Maybe some of these shows will still be used in one of the many stacks that are all over the schedule but the new lineup does show an increased emphasis on shows that are XD originals or otherwise embody this new 'XD' definition.
| (Nov. 3 update): I'm no longer doing a full schedule grid for XD. The full schedule will still be posted at Toon Zone.
There's been a bit of a switch in the XD tactics for scheduling of prime-time premieres. Two current shows (Aaron Stone, Spect. Spider-Man) and one new one (the newly acquired Naruto Shippuden, as of Oct. 28) are now on a WEDNESDAY night block of action/adventure premieres. And it's not hard to see the source of their strategy -- they're hoping to draw viewers who might usually watch Cartoon Network but aren't totally thrilled with the Wednesday night "CN Live" block of live-action shows.
The rest of the premieres have stayed put -- Zeke & Luther on Monday nights, Shreducation on Tuesdays and the rest on Saturday mornings. As usual, I will list the premieres below and keep a 24/7 schedule posted at Toon Zone (link above).
The more and more I think about it, this week's showings of the last two episodes of Spectacular Spidey might be the last time I ever watch anything on Disney XD. |
