The Music Room

DON JUAN TRIUMPHANT!
I will play you Mozart, if you like, which will only make you weep; but my Don Juan burns, Christine, and yet he is not struck by fire from heaven.

You see, Christine, there is some music so terrible that it consumes all who approach it. Fortunately, you have not come to that music yet... Let us sing something operatic, Christine Daaé!

~Erik, The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux

Welcome to the Music Room at Le Musée du Fantôme. Here you will find a collection of soundclips from various Phantom musicals. None of these are what you would call "bootlegs" of live shows. These are from my CD recordings.

Pardon the sound quality on a few of them. I have been having some technical difficulties and these were the best I could make.

This section is obviously still under construction, but I hope you enjoy what I have up so far. I have high hopes of having more to come.

At the risk of disappointing some of my good visitors, I will not post any soundclips of Michael Crawford. I have nothing against him at all. My reasoning is that there are already countless sites where you can find them. One of my goals here is to specialize in "novelty" phantom artifacts, things not likely to be found just anywhere. =)

  5. Musical by Ken Hill

    1. Prologue: I.... doooon't...... exiiiiist.......
    2. What do I See?: Carlotta's disastrous "froggy in the throat" incident while she tries to sing The Jewel Song from Faust; Courtesy of The Opera Ghost!
    3. To Pain My Heart Selfishly Dooms Me: Self-explanatory title. Only Erik is not the only one feeling this way. Interesting trio.
    4. Born with a Monstrous Countenance: The Persian tells what he knows of the Phantom.
    5. Ne'er Forsake Me, Here Remain: Erik's plea to Christine to join him as his bride as others are hunting him down. Set to the same tune as an aria from Faust. One of my personal phavorite PoTO songs.
    6. While Floating High Above: This song is played three times during the musical, each time set to different moods. This is from the third time. Mood is simultaneously sweet, sad, and eerie, IMHO.
    7. While Floating High Above: Same as #6, only Christine joins the song. A strange duet.....
