The reason that I call the club We Don't Judge Colour Here is because it was set up as a haven for the owners of Breeding Stock Paint Horses. As an owner of a breeding stock paint stallion, I felt that I needed to make a group where owners of breeding stock paints could talk up their horses without being ridiculed by people who think that breeding stock paints are worthless because they don't have the flashy white of their Regular Registry siblings. Of course, all horse lovers are welcome whether you have a spirited Arab - I have an Arab mare, too - a speedy TB, a cowy Quarter Horse - my stallion is half QH - or any other breed. Personally, I don't care what color or breed a horse is.... I love them all! And just a little FYI... Paints are in reality a color breed just like the Palamino. A paint can be a Quarter Horse or TB. (Not to be confused with a Pinto, which can result from many different breeds.) Which basically means that the American Paint Horse is just like it's Quarter Horse / TB cousins with the exception of the flashy color. There again we run into the whole problem of the Breeding Stock Paint, which doesn't have enough white on it to qualify in the Regular Registry. But even though they may have Quarter Horse lines, they are not welcome in the AQHA. I think that the TB's can be registered in the Jockey Club. What really gets me is that even though the AQHA will not allow a paint horse in (unless it was born to two registered Quarter Horse parents), they will allow TB's in. Now that doesn't make any sense at all! Basically, the American Paint Horse Association is just a crop-out of the American Quarter Horse Association. But at least the APHA will allow Breeding Stock Paints to be registered, though they are not given equal rights at shows and such. In my opinion and in a lot of other people's, something needs to change. That is why we have a group ;)
