On Friday, June 11th, A new star joined the sky,
The star was DeForest Kelley, I could see him twinkling high. Though a sadness filled my heart, As I looked up to say good-bye, My spirit lifted quietly, My prayers on whispering sighs.
My Friend now paints the sunsets, That take my breath away, And he molds the big white clouds, Into images by day. He helps to bring the dawn, By raising the shades of night, And he fills each day with hope, Of an everlasting life.
I will miss you, as will many, Who knew and loved you too, May we see you in the sunsets, And in the morning dew. I shall look each night to find your star, And another prayer I'll say, And the beauty that surrounds me, Will mean you're not far away.
My friend now sits in heaven, As an Angel of the Lord, A true and faithful servant, Now collecting his reward. Yes, There's a new Star in the Heavens, Shining bright above, He's an artist of the seasons, And a messanger of love.

While De may always be best remembered for his role as Dr. Leonard H. McCoy of the Federation Starship Enterprise, There are those of us who will remember his witt and charm. His colorful laughter and warm smile. His gentle manner and kindness. It is with fond hopes that you will remember De for all these things and help us to keep his dreams alive. De loved life above all things. He wanted to make the world a better place and he did by being part of it.
Now it is up to us to make the world a better place by keeping De's hopes and dreams going by supporting his charities. And remembering that all life is precious. While man lives only for a short while, his visions live on in those he leaves behind. May they live on in each of us. We love you De.
De was in the process of setting up a fellowship at Harvard University when
he died, for training and research for physicians and physician-scientists
specializing in the type of tumor that cost him his life. If you wish to
