Traditions


 



                           Alexandrian-Originated in England in the 1960s, by Alex Sanders. The rituals
                          are said to be of modified Gardenarian. Alex Sanders referred to himself as
                          the *King* of his Wiccans. Although similiar to Gardenarian Wicca,
                          Alexandrian Wicca tends to be more ecletic. Some of the Gardenarians strict
                          rules such as being sky clad for rituals has been made optional for the
                          Alexandrian Wiccans.
 


 


                                   British Traditional Witch-This is a mix of Celtic and Gardenarian beliefs.
                         These traditionals move mostly with in the Farrar studies and are fairly
                         structured in their beliefs. Often includes Druids.
 



 


                                 Celtic-The Celtic tradition is based on the practices of the pre-Christian Celtic
                         world. This includes, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. There is a large amout of
                         Druid practice in this tradition. Extremely earth based and strong in the
                         religious aspects of Wicca.
 

                   Ceremonial-Less religion more emphasis on art and the science of magick.
                         Rituals are usually very complex, usually not for the solitary practitioner.
 
 


 


                                   Dianic-Tradition for western Europe, tracked back to Margaret Murray in
                         1921. This tradition is noted for being the *feminist* tradition, with the focus
                         being on the Goddess Diana.
 


                    Eclectic-An Eclectic witch does not follow any traditional guidelines, instead
                         they practice the belief that suits them best. Using what they consider to be
                         essential in magick and for their lifestyles.
 

    `                                 Faerie-This tradition is based on Fae lore and  beliefs.
 


 


                    Gardnerian-This tradition was founded by Gerald Gardner. He was one of the
                         first to go public with information about the Craft. These individuals are
                         secretive and take oaths upon initiation.
 

                             Hereditary-This is a person who can trace the Craft back in thier family tree.
 

                    Kitchen Witch-This is a person who practices the *practical* side of the
                         religion, using that which they have around them, the elements, earth, mostly
                         people living in the cities practice this, those that have limited space.

                       Solitary-Those that practice alone, choosing to make their own way without
                             a group or coven.
