Champions
of the Midwest
In the year 1990, I ventured to a
Midwestern
college and entered into a world of fantasy and adventure as role-playing games became a
part of my life. As one of my friends put it..."Reality is a crutch for those
who don't play role-playing games." I happen to agree. Over the 6 yrs
that I attended that school I was immersed in many role-playing games, but none thrilled
me as much as Hero Games' Champions.
A superhero adventure system. I began as a player and grew from that game into a slew
of connected games that I ran, having anywhere from 5 to 13 players at a time.
Players you'd never imagine playing role-playing games. From techie geeks, to
frat boys, to the typical gamer, the whole gambit was run. I designed this webpage to
capture a bit of the thrill I once experienced and to give them all a chance to reminisce
on times gone by. Each of the links to the left represent a different team of heroes
and villains from games I either ran or played in. All the images are original
artwork done by yours truly for the game. Based on the character ideas of the
players. We have all graduated now, and lead very different lives, but one thing
will always connect us...The World we created in...
