The Search for the tempest stone began long ago when a mage named Rortal found an old tome titled, The Book of Ahmin-Rah.   This book told of a stone with the power of creation, with the power to do anything, now many people of the land of Gahenna are in search of this stone.  Either for Good or Evil the members of this party must survive with each other and learn that of cooperation to find the stone...

The Game
1
Timber Ahnn Sits at the bar in Sharler, looking to his left he notices a sign.  "Reward for the Tempest Stone" that's what it said.  It also said that this was issued by the king, and so he decided to go find it, He grabbed the peice of paper and held it up.
"Anyone want to go on an adventure?" He screamed to the bar.
2
A giant, well built man looks up from his tankard of ale at the announcement.  "I'm interested. Whats it alla bout then???"
3
"We're after some strange stone." Timber replied.
4
A figure in the corner stand and comes forth. As he comes into the light ,he throws back the hood of his forest
green cloak and you can see he is an elf of above average build with flowing silver hair and stern amber eyes. You
notice he moves with catlike grace.  His left hip carries a fine Longsword and the right , a short sword. you notice a
longbow and travelpack at the table he came from.
" Aye,  I would be interested in the search . The Stone is said to have great power. Such an thing should found, but
must also be handled with respect and great care.   "
5
"I don't care how it's handled as long as I get the award." Timber smiled, then dropped the paper. "Any one else?"
6
"Ah yes, with care it should be handled, my name is Raska and I wonder why the king hires odinary people to do job of this magnitude?"she says. You see a half elf  female with a dark cloak and a sword strapped to her side very young and not unpleasant to look at but its the eyes always shifting and trying to take it all in, you can see they are older than their years.
7
" The half-blood has the right of it." A dwarf sits with his back to the group watching the flames of the fire. He is clad in a deep brown tunic that is worn and dusty. Around his neck hangs a silver chain with a small piece of shaped metal attached at the bottom. His black hair is streaked with thick bands of white and sways in three tight braids that come just short of mid-torso. In front of each ear is a short braid that stops at the bottom of his neck. Tied to the bottom of every braid is a silver band and the same symbol that hangs around his neck. Taking a large swig from a cup he sets the cup back down and takes a glance at the small gathering near the posted announcement. " The monsters in the stone towers are not to be taken lightly.  You young ones are going to need someone to look after you. So I shall accompany whatever party is gathered." His eyes look like small polished stones as they catch the firelight. He turns to the plate in front of him and finishes up what he paid for.
8
Calis approaches the bar and orders a glass of wine ,elven if the tavern stocks it, and offers to by one for the young half-elf...."might I offer you some spirits, lass ? "
9
The giant looks up again, and this time wipes the gravy from his chin as he munches on what appears to be a chicken.  Taking another swig from his tankard, he pushes the chair back and stands up.
He stretches to almost 7ft in height and you can see clearly that he is in tremendous physical shape and has an impressive muscular physique.  He is wearing a sleeveless leather jerkin which shows off his tattoos which cover all the exposed flesh.  You now see also 2 longswords and a giant two headed axe.  You clearly feel that this is not a man to be trifled with!!  His hair is dirty blonde and is shaved almost to the skin, and you notice now his Orcish resemblance.
"If you people are goin' after the stone, I better come with you.  Anyway, my gold is getting low and i could do with the reward. When do we leave??"
10
Raska replies, an evil grin on her face "always in the mood for some spirits, liquid or otherwise" Looking him over carefully
11
A good looking young man with a very muscular build and long straight black hair gets up and walks over to Timber Ahnn. You notice that before he leaves his table that he bends down and pets a large dog and gives him a peice of bread.  He is quick on his feet for a man so big even wearing chain mail armour. He is carrying a morning star at his belt and leaves a short bow, quiver and med buckler at his table. He wears a grey cloth cloak over his shoulders and brown pants. He has a belt pouch at his waist and black gloves. "Sounds interesting. I think I'd be interseted in such a quest," Haalan states. "When do we leave?"
12
The giant strides over to the bar.  As he crosses the floor, he unashamedly breaks wind with a forceful belch but you  notice that for someone so big, he is very graceful on his feet.  "Barkeep......another ale" he shouts before turning to Timber Ahnn.  "I'll join this search for the rock.  Jerec Voghn is the name."
13
"We leave as soon as you all decide!" Timber's golden eyes flash in the glare of the fire. "I'm just here for the reward."
14
"Indeed, I believe I can aid you in the search and care of this stone" says a black robed figure, his voice barely audible. You turn to see a person of average height standing behind you, his black velvet robe hanging off thin, small shoulders with many puches, feathers and other small knick knacks hanging from his belt.  You could have sworn you didn't see him in the inn earlier. "I will come." he says, not bothering to remove his hood nor give his name. He then leans upon a staff revealing a thin, ghostly pale hand.
15
Calis returns to his table and retrieves his gear, then returns to the bar.. "I am ready whenever the rest of you are"
16
" Decide what, thought it was a magical stone we after, what more we need you the eagar beaver, the wisened ol dwarf to keep us out of trouble, the Giant in case the ol dwarf fails and a couple hangers on looking for excitement and a few coins to boot, I say let get down the road for the day grows old"
17
The Dwarf at the table finishes his food and stands from his chair, he rises to only a height of about 4'1". Grabbing the pack at his side he slips his arms into it and hefts it onto his back. Walking towards the group, he begins to speak. " So does anyone know where to look?" Looking around for quick response he pauses. Laughing heartily soon after. The bands on his braids and the chain around his neck hold a silver rendered gate. It's intricate design seemingly unfamiliar. " Let's find another place to talk. I feel thieves eyes on the back of my neck." Bowing to the gathered adventurers he smiles. " Vorgad Rigastav, Protector of Veghman's Gates, at your service."
18
Haalan walks back over to his table, finishes his drink and grabs his belongings. Motioning to the dog briefly he walks back over to the ever growing group. Speaking to the group and facing Vorgad" I'd have to agree with Vorgad on that point folks. Loose talk of such treasures can only result in danger to us all. On matters such as these even the walls have ears. Does anyone have a quiet place where we can talk? I don't think my room here is big enough for us all." This last is said with an easy smile.
19
"I say we stay here, mighty comfy is it not?" Timber smiled. "Nah, I'm jus' kiddin ya, lets get a room in the Blackstone Inn just down the street."
20
"I too agree with  Vorgad, Let us go and discuss where we might start to look for this stone.....I am assuming this notice you have  says something about where to inquire if we wish to undertake this venture? who is offering the reward and how much ?  .... "Nice dog you have there, what is his name ?
21
"I' says here the king offered i', but i' doesn't say wha' da reward is." Timber replies. "Bu' I'm thinksin' i's alot for somethin' tha' strange and powerful."
22
Speaking to Calis, Haalan nods his head in recognition of the compliment, "Why thank you. His name is Ska." Noticing Calis leaning over to pet the dog, "You may feel free to pet him if you like he is very well behaved and trained," then with a wink to the others, "just don't make any sudden moves." When Calis looks up Haalan will share the joke with him as well and bend over and rub Ska behind the ears.    Looking over to Timber, "This Blackstone Inn sounds as though it will do nicely, lets be off."
23
"Indeed le's do be off." Timber replied and began to walk out the door.
24
Raska says" yes lets move, an I am glad its a dog and not a cat, cats are vile nasty little creatures"
25
"I for one care not for any animal." says Makor. "Nor any other creature aside from us humans." he hisses."Enuf of this pointless chatter!  Let us be off.  While we are idle, another  is already on the search for this stone.  Act with haste! Something of such  power cannot fall into untrained hands.  Let us leave this place now." he says with obvious frustration in his voice.  He taps his staff on the floor  twice and begins to walk over to the inn door, still shrouded in his black  robes.
26
Calis' sharp elven ears pick up the remark of the human. He has learned in his many years of life to try and ignore those not of the People// Calis again pets Ska before shouldering his equipment and moving closer to the door.  " Timber, would you be so good as to show us this tavern you spoke of.. I would like to get these little details worked out and then be on our way .. as someone has already noted.. time is of the essence and we want to make sure we are the ones to find the stone..  I am quite willing to start on the road as soon as we determine which way we should go.."
27
after Makor's snide remark.. Calis  speak in the language of the Tel'Quessir (the Elven People)   "always the non-Tel'Quessir speak of haste and the need for action. If only they would think before they act, many of the disasterous acts they have unleased on the land and the creatures of the forest would have been avoided the human need for speed will be the downfall of all Gahenna"
28
Raska begins to follow the black robed one out of the inn
29
Jerec looks at the black robed stranger with a stare which would freeze a running river.  "You are right, we need to move on. But listen to me....if you become part of this group to find the magic rock then you need to work with the group. If ya don't then i'll kill ya where ya stand!!  We have no need for individuals, so button your lip or lose your head!!"  With that, he heads for the door and onward to the rendezvous.
30
Raska stops in  midstride and begins to say something, then thinks better of it but thinks to herself HMMM,
31
"You say sumpin' Raska?" Timber asked as he walked to the door.  Not getting an answer he slowly walked to Black Stone Inn.
Entering the inn Timber asked for a place to talk with friends and he went into a large room where he waited for the others.
32
Calis follows Timber to the new inn.. once all have arrived, he will order a bottle of Elven wine if the establishment has one (otherwise a mug of Ale) and then addresses them all...   "Seeing as the King is the one offering the commission to find the Stone, I assume there may be someone at the kings court whom we should contact to see if they have any directions or information we might need. Unless someone here has knowledge of the Stone, we may wish to visit a sage to see if there is anything important we should know before searching out ,and should we find it, handling the stone. My skills may be useful in getting us to wherever the Stone may be, but as far as knowing where to look, I  am currently at a loss.  Other than the fact that the Stone possesses great power that can do both good and evil depending on the holder and that it has been lost for many many years , I have little knowledge of its actual capabilities or what ill effects the stone may possess
Do any of you have knowledge of the Stone ?    ..Timber,  does the notice mention who to contact about accepting the commission from the king ?
33
"I still think we need to know WHY the king is hiring common people like us to find this stone, seems finding it would be a secretive affair for his inner court only and he would not want just anyone out there stirring up the countryside trying to find it" says Raska, "also I aggree with Calis that we need to see someone on kings court before we start this to answer some basic questions, Magical stones can do strange things if one is not real careful about them"
34
Makor snickers as Jerec finishes his threat. "I am simply stating that if we are to discuss what we are to do next and  plan out our actions, we should move to the other inn swiftly instead of  petting muts and listening to the pompous remarks of the elves." "Another thing, do not threaten me Jerec, you may come to regret it.  If you  wish me to button my lip, I will do so." A wry grin flashes across Makors face and he then continous to the next inn.
