The Offspring in the Media

In the February 1, 2001 issue of Rolling Stone, there is a small review of the December 18 Offspring concert at New York's Roseland Ballroom. It wasn't a glowing review, but it was pretty good. Gavin Edwards, the reviewer, called the Offspring "the surf-punk U2."

A few random quotes from the article:
"...what the Offspring lacked in spontaneity, they compensated for with polished entertainment."
"With his unkempt hair and thick glasses, guitarist Noodles looked like the mad professor of rock; his pogo-ing made him the band's highest-energy member."
"While confetti fell from the ceiling, the band led the audience in stretches and distributed pretzels to the crowd."

Yep, that's our pal Dexter you saw on the cover of Kerrang! Honestly folks, I have no idea where the hell to pick up a copy of Kerrang! (a magazine). I think it's a UK mag. You may have to go online to find it, I'll check it out and report back. But anyway, Dexter is looking very creepy and cool and he's with a guy from AFI (i don't know them by name). The magazine supposedly has info about the Offspring inside. Like I said, I don't know yet. I'll get back on that.

Dexter and Noodles grace the cover of the February 2001 issue of Guitar World.
I didn't realize Noodles has a nose ring! Icky.
Inside they talk about their views on the internet, porn, and the meaning of some of their songs. Noodles even calls Dexter a sick motherf***er. hehe.
If you're a fan of the Offspring, or a guitar player--or both!--definitely pick this issue up. It has some neat funhouse-like pics, plus Noodles is just funny.

I'll get some pictures from this baby up as soon as I get my ass over to the Honors building and take over their scanner! mwa ha ha.....
