Mysterious, imposing and lethal; that is the image portrayed by the Emperor's Imperial Royal Guards. Of the many facets of Emperor Palpatine's new Galactic Empire, one of the most mysterious and fearsome was the Imperial Royal Guards. Shrouded in their crimson robes, protected by their full body armour and masked by their faceless helmets, the Guardsmen real identity was known only to each other and to the Emperor himself. |
| A member of the Guards was an imposing sight -no other members of the Galactic Empire could so easily defined a warrior. The weapon of choice for the Imperial Guard was a special 2-metres force pike; deceptively small and thin, but deadly in the grip of a Guardsman. Heavy blaster pistols concealed beneath their robe add to their lethalness when provoked. Additionally, the Royal Guard's unknown nature allow their mere presence to be a weapon; they answered to the Emperor alone and nobody outside or within the Empire knew their secrets. Their loyalty belong to Emperor Palpatine alone; with every fiber of their existence; and they are willing to die for their Emperor and his ideas. |
| The Guards were used by Emperor Palpatine mainly for personal tasks, often as fighters or bodyguards. They are also his personal assassins and soldier, deployed instantly to destroyed his enemies. The Emperor was rarely seen without his Guardsmen close at hand- the loyalty of the Guards was unquestioned, their warriors; skills masterful. Occasionally, the Guardsmen will be found stationed with other high ranking officials within the Empire; such as a Grand Moff or one of the twelve Grand Admirals, but only at the request of the Emperor himself. |

| While it is commonly believed that the Guards were comprised of the most elite of the Emperor's Stormtropper Soldiers, their exact origins have yet to be discovered. Even the numbers of Imperial Guardsmen was a mystery; perhaps there were fifty, perhaps five hundreds. The Emperor kept his private records with himself and at Imperial Center, and only he could access them. |
