Me and My Weird Self

Summary: A little bit of info about myself...but nothing so important that people will find out my life history and then stalk me or something...

Warning: I'm quite strange. Proceed with caution.

What I do that I Think is Fun (aka My Hobbies):

I absolutely love school (I think I'd go insane without it). That's not really a hobby, but it's one of those things I live for.

When I'm not in school, I'm usually on the computer...usually the internet, creating websites, visiting other peoples' sites and reading their stories. I also write a lot (which is quite obvious considering my fan fiction). Although most of my stories are Star Trek related, I sometimes write other things like poetry and some short stories.

What I do when I'm not on the computer: I draw and paint a lot. Too bad I don't have a scanner because I'd put my Voyager art up on my site (actually, almost all of my art is Star Trek...I'm a little obsessed. Can't ya tell?). I also enjoy ceramics, but my finished clay projects don't turn out nearly as cool as my other works of art.

I read often, too. I've read many books (the evidence is my book reviews), but I have expanded my horizons a little in this category. I like stories other than ones that are Star Trek such as:

Moving Mars by Greg Bear (a wonderful sci-fi/politics book which I highly recommend)
K-PAX and On a Beam of Light by Gene Brewer
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey
Ordinary People by Judith Guest
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
Anthem by Ayn Rand
Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents by Octavia E. Butler
A Midsummer Night's Dream by Shakespeare
and there are many others.

My Philosophies:

I don't believe in dating (gasp!) because that can lead to marriage (which I shudder at because I value my independence *way* too much), marriage can lead to children (I can't stand little kids), and dating can equal temptation and sin. (Now's when you probably think I'm very strange.) If you can't control temptations and wants, then you will become victim to what I like to call "casual conformity"...those things that our society practically makes people do because it's "normal" and if they don't, they're considered outcasts. I won't allow myself to be like everyone else, even if it means I won't quite "fit in". I try to keep keep my "negative" emotions in check. (I really like how Vulcans think, okay?) It's something that I've forced upon myself years ago...when I thought that Star Trek was just some stupid show that geeky people watched...when I didn't even know what a Vulcan was... I found it better for me if I don't let things get to me.

I, of course, may change my philosophies as time goes by, but these are what I stick to now.

Things I'm All For:

Human Cloning: Hey, if people can clone humans, then I say "why not?". I don't see any harm in it, and those who have banned it even before we know for sure whether it's possible or not are cowards and are afraid of the unknown.

Anti-Evolution (Creationism): Not just because I'm a Christian, but because I did an argumentative speech on it last year, and I was amazed on how incredibly easy it is to prove the THEORY of evolution essence, none of it makes sense. And I used science to prove it wrong...the very thing that the theory depends on. Things like the laws of physics, First and Second Law of Thermodynamics, and such show that it isn't even remotely possible... All you who believe in evolution should take a look at the evidence that disproves that "science".

Space Exploration: I believe that it is necessary for the human race to find other places to live because we're soon going to wipe ourselves out with war, over-population, and/or pollution. We need a fresh start, and I think NASA and other space programs should step up the pace a little bit (we haven't been to the moon in decades!) and get a good dosage of Star Trek to inspire them. :-)
