Hi folks, John here!

I didn't think summer would ever get here! This has had to have been the longest stretch of winter weather I've ever seen---and we're still having more than our share of relatively cool days!----but the summer months are finally here. Christina and I are about to take our first little vacation from home since we closed the store last year, my new job is going well, our new kitten is a joy to have in the apartment, and everything is going well!

If you're one of the few visitors reading this right now, you're probably wondering when we're going to start publishing comic books! Well, the artwork for BATTLEFIELD #1 is almost finished, and I've just assigned BATTLEFIELD #2 to a new artist. While I work on the scripts for the final three issues of this mini-series, I'll be looking for other artists to complete the other chapters, so each issue will have a different artist contributing to the book. (Plus, the series will get finished a lot faster if different people are working on it simultaneously!)

We could release BATTLEFIELD #1 in about a month, but I want to set a different example as a new small publisher. I don't want to release any series---especially a mini-series----until the entire project is finished. I've always had problems with companies that let people lose interest in a series because six to eight months pass between one issue to the next. It's ridiculous, and I'm going to do everything I can to avoid it happening.

I'm aiming to have both BATTLEFIELD and the two-part mini-series SADIE McSNATCH finished by the end of the year, probably by different artists. (In fact, if you're an artist and you want to be published, please send me an e-mail at screamerboy23@hotmail.com, and let's talk!) Once the books are finished, we'll be selling ad space, and soliciting them to comic stores around the country directly, as well as having Haven Distributors carry the book for us. But we won't be formally promoting the book until I know there will only be a 2 month break between each issue. At this point, I'm expecting to have the first issue premier in January 2010, so watch for the serious announcements towards October.
