This Fan Fiction by Lavender   "HA HA HA HA!!!!  This is going to be the END of Harry Potter, the hero..."    Harry sat bolt upright in bed.    He had been having scary dreams lately, VERY scary, too.  He had a close call once again at Hogwarts sevral weeks before, and was still getting over the frightening face... But he was having a wonderful summer, anyway.  Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia were back at Privet Drive, with stupid ole' Dudley.  No Harry. Because the Weasley's had signed their children (all except for "Perfect Percy")  up for wizarding camp!    Ron had sent his new owl, Terence, to Hermione and Harry telling them about it.  Hermione got the owl fiirst, and had bound her slip to Terence's leg, and sent it on to Harry, with his birthday presents from she and the Weasley's  with him.    Harry had figured out a way to get Hedwig out, thanks to a quick moment, where everyone had left the house.  He got on his hands and knees searching Dudley's second bedroom for anything resembling a hair clip.  He found one on an old fighter jet that Dudley had thrown out the window (he had hit his Aunt with it, too, which put her in the hospital for a week).    With it he had picked the door lock and snuck out into the bathroom.  No one was in the house because Uncle Vernon had just realized that they had left their new cat, Kitty-Poo, outside, and they needed to catch her.  He got a whole box of bobby pins, and no one ever noticed.     It was quite a good thing that the Dursleys always forgot about him.  Because Harry was always in the middle of either doing his homework or plotting a way to get away.  So he had sent Terence back to Ron, thanking him for the present and asking him to give Hermione her letter, saying thanks also.  He also included a note saying that he would have Dean Thomas send the camp slip to him, because Harry obviously wouldn't be able to get anyone in the house to sign it (Ron had told him before that Dean was also going to camp).  He had learned that Dean was good with a quill, and he could forge signatures.  So using a pin, he released Hedwig and sent her to Dean with the slip.    Harry lay down on his bed, hoping for some dinner.  It had been a weird day.    Suddenly, he heard a soft buzzing.  It was growing louder.  And louder.  What was going on?  He peered out the window, and saw the most amazing thing he had ever seen in the world.  It was a....                Can you guess? See if you're right when we return                            with the second thrilling part of....    HARRY AND THE ------! (If I told you the rest, you would know what is was!) Chapter Two:    Harry, his mouth gaping open at the sight in front of him, stood back as an enormous cloud of red and gold glitter flew through his window.  The cloud dropped several boxes onto his bed, and then drifted eerily out of the window.    Harry sat on his bed, and found a note taped to one of the boxes. He picked up the yellowish parchment and read it.         Dear Harry,                How are you?  I'm fine.  I really hope the muggles are treating you well.  Buckbeak is wonderful.  He's been helping me quite a bit.  I've contacted Professor Lupin, we have been chatting quite a lot lately.  I've found myself some temporary messengers (as you can see, my glitter cloud!).  I bought myself an owl, but let me explain the packages.     I sent my owl to Hagrid, and told him about our brief meeting.  I assured him that Buckbeak was wonderful, and asked him to send me his birthday present for you to me (he sent two).  I also told Remus to buy my present for you, and I sent my Gringotts vault key to him.  He has a gift for you, and he hopes that you're well.    Tell me if you have any problems with the Dursleys', I'll deal with them for you!  Hope you're having a fun summer!  Happy Birthday!                                                        Sirius Black    Harry read his letter again.  So many presents!  He must send him a thank-you with Hedwig!  It was still a day before his birthday, but he REALLY wanted to open the presents.  He decided to open all of them later, except for one.  He picked up Ron's present, and shook it.  It was a pretty heavy, and it made a lot of noise.  It had multicolored paper on it, and it was quite large.  He was too tempted.  He started unwrapping the paper.     A silver envelope with gold letters looked up at him.  He ripped it open.  It read:                Dear Harry,                        Have a good birthday!  There's another thing in the envelope, just so you know.  I hope you're enjoying your holidays, at least a little.  Hope you can come to camp!                                                    Ron    He reached inside the envelope and pulled out a piece of brown parchment.  It read:                You are entitled to a 5 year subscription to the Daily Prophet.  It will be delivered to you personally by a Prophet News Owl each day starting at the end of the Hogwarts term through September first.  This subscription is pre-paid for.  Please save this paper to show to the owl each day when it delivers your paper.                                                            Thank You,                                            Griffen Howshoten     Wow!  How exciting this was!  He could finally keep up with the wizarding world!  He took the box out of the rest of the paper.  Inside was a black box with gold lettering reading "Happy Birthday Harry!".  He opened it to a magnificent sight.  There was a brand new copy of "THE BEST QUIDDITCH BOOK"  by Isaac Fretan, a whole new set of gobstones, a "How to beat your friend in Chess:  The beginners guide" by Harley Hason, and a box of chocolate frogs.  How could Ron, of all people, afford  such a great present?  He re-read Ron's letter.  He suddenly noticed a P.S. at the bottom that said:    P.S.- Harry, you'll see how I afforded your present when the first edition comes!   Ron    Oh!  No wonder!  Hary put the presents under his bed and tucked the letter in his secret cubby.  He looked at the clock.  11:15.  A whole hour left until his birthday!     He sat in bed and decided to do his potions essay.  He could get that over with, and still have things to look forward to.    He took out a piece of parchment and his eagle quill and opened "ONE THOUSAND MAGICAL HERBS AND FUNGI".  He checked his list of vacation homework. Page 213...please read- discuss this point- "What is a complete description of...."     He couldn't write this.  He was too excited.  He put the book down, and glanced at the clock.  11:57.  "Wow!  How time flies!" he thought. He sat on his bed, and thought about what he would do at camp.  11:59. He decided to count down.  Thirty seconds.  Twenty.  Five, four, three, two, one...    "Happy Birthday...Harry." croaked a voice in the back of the room. COMING SOON.... CHAPTER THREE!!    Harry whirled around and stared at the corner.  There was not a sound, nor the slightest sense of movement.  "Who's there?" he whispered.    "Guess."  The voice croaked back.  Suddenly a glimmer flickered in the darkness.  A stifled giggle sounded in the corner.    A quiet "shhh!" told him that it wasn't anyone to worry about.  He flicked on the light next to his bed.  Sitting in the corner were Hermione, and Ron, and Ginny Weasley.    "Happy birthday!" Ginny said loudly.  Her brother kicked her in the shins.  "Shhh! Do you want to get us caught?"  She moved her hand over her mouth, while Ron mmade a violent gesture in midair.  Hermione wrote "Happy Birthday" on a sheet of paper, and then started scribbling.  Ron began to whisper to Harry, but Hermione grabbed his elbow.  She handed Harry the paper, gesturing him to read it.    Ron sent me Terence and told me how awful you were feeling.  I sent him back a note saying that my parents were driving up towards where you live, and that I was going.  So we decided to have a surprise for you. I'm afraid of your Aunt and Uncle, so that's why I'm writing.  Let's get your books.  I'm staying with Ron for a week, and then my parents are picking me up.  Come on!  Hurry!    He showed it to Ron, and they worked in silence.  Harry and Hermione went to get the trunk, while Ron and Ginny followed.  They picked the lock, and grabbed the things from under the stairs.  Ron and Ginny came through the swinging doors into the kichen with two bulging bags of food.  Harry had told them to take food for the trip home.  "It'll be a long night," he said.    They all grabbed a corner of the trunk, and got it up the stairs. As Ron reached for the door handle, a sudden noise startled them. Instead of opening, the door remained locked!  They had shut the door without leaving it unlocked!  The only way to open it would be to put the trunk down (because it was too heavy for only three to hold).  It would make too much noise.  They silently decided to put it down.    As is was going on the floor, a sudden yelp aroused everything.  The trunk had landed on Ron's foot, and the yelp of pain he had released was echoing through the hallway.  Ron covered his mouth, but it was too late.  Uncle Vernon had heard.    "AAARRRGGHHHH!!!!  HARRY!!!!!!"  Uncle Vernons bellows sounded louder than ever.    "Yikes!" Ron said.  He jamed the pin into the doorknob and the door burst open.  They ran inside, shut, and locked the door after throwing the trunk in.  Ron threw Harry's mattress, pillows, and bedclothes out of the window to make a soft landing.  Uncle Vernon made deafening hammers on the door, and Ginny was sobbing in the corner.  "Ginny first!"  Harry said.    She hurried forward and sat on the window sill.  In ten secods, she was gone, and gave a yell to say it was okay, although it sounded very scared and choked up.  Next, Ron disappeared down.  He yelled to say it was okay to send the trunk down.  Harry and Hermione gave Ron the thumbs-up, and the trunk landed with a crash.  Uncle Vernon was still hammering.  Next went the bags of food.  Down, down, thump, thump.  Then harry collected things from under the bed and his cubby.  He threw those down.  Then he got Hedwig's empty cage, and sent that down.  Then Hermione jumped.  Harry looked around his room, got on the sill, and was just about to jump, when Uncle Vernon slammed down the door.  He roared, and lunged at Harry, missed, got up, and he was gone.    They all grabbed everything, and carried it to the next street, where they stopped and sat down.  A giant sigh was released from all of them.  Harry opened his trunk, got out his wand, and said "Lumos!".  He waved his wand, and the Knight Bus stood in front of them.  Harry gathered up his stuff, and his friend Stan walked out to him.    "Hiya Neville!  How're ya?" He said, patting him on the back.  "We gots some room fer y'all, I think!"  They got the things together, and climbed aboard.
